View Full Version : Warlock Pride

With all the talk of different caster classes and who has what and who doesn't, I have and feel great pride in being a Warlock.I was just curious who else out there feels the same way.To me Warlock is not for everyone and those that are come out stronger in the end. Our road is not easy to travel... Our path is not paved in stone.... These things make us stronger and are one of the reasons I chose this class and to this day have loved every minute of it.So no rants and raves... If you are a Warlock, post here and lets show everyone there are those of us who have overcome the burdens of being the true Crash N' Burn Caster and love what we do!68 levels and 2yrs into it and I'm still kickin!<div></div>
<DIV>i chose the class because we were different, unique and not many of us were around when i chose the class. When we were overpowered in T5 days i hated it cause everyone and their mother was a warlock. Now that we arent the powerhouse class anymore i'm enjoying the class even if we are underpowered.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so yes i will always have pride in my warlock. I will never sell him( on SE of course) cause after spending a year and a half on the toon and trying to be the best i can be at the class.</DIV>

The class is an abstract thing. I am proud of my abilities of playing both a warlock and assassin to their fullest. I am not proud of what SOE has done to the warlock class. Lots of people will look at it in different ways. Like Xede values being unique in a way where not everyone plays the class even if it means that class is underpowered as is the warlock. Problem is a lot still play the warlock not knowing what they are getting themselves into in the end game even if it seems ok along the way. Many of the top warlocks knowing the problems don't even post here, there are not many left either as many have rerolled etc. I value uniqueness in bringing something no one else can bring to the table. <div></div>

Every time someone tells me how cool my nightblood is ...Every time someone laughs when I call my broodlings the "blobs of death" ...Every time someone says that seeing me in action makes them want to level their warlock ...Every time someone posts a parse where I am double the next closest number ...Every time someone sees Rift cast for the first time and says "omg what the f*** was that!? that was awesome!" ...Every time I drop 4 mobs simultaneously in a single cast of Absolution ...Every time an instance group tells me how much faster things go with me in it ...Every time I tell frazzled healers "Don't worry - I die like it's a religion" ...All of these are true reasons why I love my warlock. And it *is* nice that level 70 'locks aren't sitting on every doorstep. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<P>Aye, being a Warlock is one the most rewarding classes in the game. Even if we are "gimped" and "underpowered", we are the proud, the few, and the people with the lowest KpD ratio I know! :smileyvery-happy:</P> <P>But seriously, Warlocks are a blast. Mine is only 52, but I've seen the highs and lows so far, and I love them. . . Besides, we have some of the coolest Ent. spells in the game! :smileyhappy:</P>

I love my warlock. I think the greatest thing I ever ran in to one time was after I had taken a bit of a break from the game because of work, when I came back I was chatting in a world channel and someone speaks up saying that it was because of me that they had started a new warlock and loved it. They said they grouped with me one time and were just dumbfounded on how quickly I could drop a group of mobs. Though it is one more warlock in the world it makes me feel good that someone was watching me work and I made them say DANG!!!

<P> I love playing my Warlock. First time I went with a group of guildies into HoF and did my thing the mt said in group "wow I don't think we've ever done this zone so fast before" lol was hilarious and they always like to tease me when I draw aggro from them as well last night was a fun one. "oh I thought you wanted it?" I said one is sufficient 2 is too much :smileytongue:</P> <P> Anyways will always be glad I started my Warlock no matter what anyone says about them, its all in how you like to play :smileyhappy:</P>

<P>With my 68 Templar, 70 Troubadour, 42 Guardian, and a bunch of others, I've played around with most toons. But as frustrating as can be sometimes with aggro-control, I just love my Warlock. The reason why is hard to explain but every once in a while, I get a tiny-wittle peek at the ultimate potential this class has.</P> <P>Some spells aren't very functional, aggro is a nightmare, we rely heavily on other toons for maximum dmg output, we have very very little utility, and if I had a plat for every time I died.... all that being said, I forget it all when I cast Rift + Apoc + Absolution and watch any regular group of mobs die all around my feet and the grp I'm with says "[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] just happened!?!"</P> <P>Raids? oh well that's another story.. I'm just happy for the charity slot</P> <P>Quattra - 70 Warlock</P>

I made a Warlock cause my main toon was a Mystic. Tired of mobs taking 30 min to kill while soloing I rolled a Warlock cause my buddy in RL had one during the unbreakable group root days and was floored by the dmg. Having both toons at 70 I love the Warlock much more. Instance groups are a blast....just the Nest for example....rules with AOE dmg. Freehand Sorcery with Apoc has got to be my favorite thing spell wise in this game. Very happy that Warlock masters compared to Wizzy masters are cheaper on my server...supply and demand...and that when I put "70 Warlock LFG" in 60-70 chat..it doesnt take long to find a group<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I played my Coercer to 70, begging, pleading & praying people would group with me. My zerker is 55, and I learned many tricks to keep that aggro off my nukers. Now, I have Dashielle, currently level 54 Warlock, & he is my favorite. It's easy to blow things up, it's a talent to do it without stealing aggro. I could repeat everything in this post that I agree with, but I'll keep it short. Warlock has given my EQ2 experience new life. <div></div>

I'm absoutley in love with my Euridite Warlock. I love how uncommon we are. Being level 28 and still having people who've never grouped with a warlock before is pretty cool. It's even cooler when I take down whole groups SO much faster than anybody else. I agree with all of the downsides. We die way to fast, we suck aggro from everything and we're not even that great at soloing, but something about this class keeps me playing them. I've gotten sick of my Paladin, my Inquisitor, my Beserker, and my brigand, but I never tire of playing my Warlock. I actually get tired from playing too long, and knowing I have to get up for school in the morning. There's nothing like being up all night writing a newspaper article all night because I spent too much time with a group in Nektrops Castle. Even if I'm 2 or 3 levels lower than everyone else, I'm still always in the top 3 for damage. Being a Warlock/Sage combo DEFINETLY has it's perks. I love reducing the mobs diesease damage then nuking a mob for 800 damage at level 25. The guilds tank still refuses to believe it happened, haha.

I would still agree with this<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> After70 levels and 35 AA's Im still lovin every minute of the Warlock life, agro problems and all! I parse 1to 6 regulary and that is just fine with me.. And you are right, there is something about being a Warlock that gives me pride to have chosen this long hard road.WARLOCKS FOR THE WIN!!!<div></div>
