Raiding question...

<DIV> Ok so reading the forums I decided to go with the Wis/Str lines for AA's (currently have all wis done and str started at 38 for aa's now). My question is this....while doing labs last night I had the MA targetted (never have the MT targetted unless otherwise told to do so) and somehow managed to take aggro off the MT after Apoc went off (on the first mob it was at about 10% but the second mob had aggro'd me a few seconds after the first mob was dead). I was asked if I was targetting the MT which I wasn't and of course my Apoc is adept 3, anyways what is the best way for me to do the most dps in the raiding situation? I had a few ppl tell me that it was because I was going all out....but I never made the parser (my husband 70 Necro and another Necro were out dps'ing me but never once got the aggro off MT)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kinda confussed hehe I know Warlocks can do some serious dps (but if I am slowing it down and still getting aggro could it be crits??):smileysad:</DIV>

Heya, I hvae a lv 70 Warlock as well and when raiding I have noticed that I will gain more aggro than say a summoner who will out parse me at any given day....I tried the int aa line to see if it was maybe a hate issue .. but I run into 2 problems..1. By the time I cast all of my deaggro spells and get ready to cast the mob is dead.. (thanks to a ranger grrr) 2. I still get the mobs attention becuase apoc decides to crit.What gets me is that a wizards Fusion which could hit up to 1 -3 mobs if im correct for nearly 8,000 each and not get too too much aggro .. but If i use apoc which will slowly max total damage at say 12,000 on a mob of 3 and get one shotted.. and thats including waiting at least 30s for the mt to get aggro established...Now maybe im using a wizzy's spell as a bad example but I do think our hate gain should be looked at. I was thinking that maybe since hate is sorta increased by each attack.. that maybe a dot counts as an attack for each tick.. There have been some cases where I can go all out and at least make the top 5 ( dang necros grrr) and not get any attention from the mob but then again I had a very good tank in the grp, you just hve to know what spells not too use right off the back..I have sinced just tried not to focus too much on the parser. and when asked why I am not making the top 5 I jsut say cuz I dont feel like goin broke today by spending all my savings on repairs..

<P>hehe ya I try to wait till aggro is established (on raids MA will call for DPS...otherwise I have no business casting before that its my death if not)....even then I can still draw aggro...Apoc I usually don't use right off the bat (in group situations with a solid tank I do) but raids Apoc is one of the last spells I use (because of the dmg it can dish out) I use my debuff's first, then dot's then nebula, void ab and distortion, soul and then apoc (usually done in that order). I also have used Netherlord/dark infestation on named's (tried it out on the dragon for moa4 and it rocked) :smileyvery-happy: (too bad no one in the raid had a parse to see what I had done hehe)</P> <P>I did have my aa's in Intel (all intel was opened) and really and truly it did crap for decrease threat/aggro issues :smileywink:</P>

Try changing your spell casting lineup, i usually start off with our aoe debuff, dots, then i get into my single or ae line up throwing in hate decreasers in the middle.

Pally is your friend... Since i have all my spells M1 now, apocalypse included, staying in caster group is no longer and option with maxed wis and str lines, hitting crits like mad as i use crit potions during raids as well. So take it like this - we have 2 MT grps and our top assassin is in guard's group with hate transfer on him + dirge, then in pally's group are myself and a coercer, with amends i don't need to worry a single second for taking agro as i just go full out with everything i have, often parsing 2K+ dps on relatively long aoe fights like lyceum or halls of seeing and its very useful for the two tanks to have agro buffers in some special mem wipe encounters like vyemm, tarinax or bloodbeast as they compete all the time for agro.
