Hello everyone. Me and some friends are thinking of making an AE group on alts. Would probably be just killing yellow and below mobs. (reaching 70 on mains and looking for something different) and need some help deciding what would be best tank / healer combo for an AE group...There are already 2 warlocks and I am going to have to be the tank (wife is going to be healer) but unsure what tank / healer combo is best for this. I thought of posting on the guardian / zerker boards but that would probably get a prejudiced answer so I figured I would post here and ask your thoughts as you have already been there and done that! Who would be best at AE agro holding...Here are some ideas we have tossed around:Guardian / Templar - Have heard that guardians have some good AE taunts.<div></div>Zerker / Templar - Really dont know how the taunts are if they are having to use defensive stance and shield.Pally / Shaman - If shaman used a group ward and pally amended them to keep agro off... 2 warlocks so cant amend both.We would appreciate any ideas or tips from your grouping experience.

<DIV>My wife plays a shaman, and we trio with a paladin alot. And the 3 classes compliment eachother nicely. Though with 2 warlocks I expect that warlock who doesn't have amends will probably end up pulling agro alot. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My Bezerker has alot of AoE CA's, and a good AE taunt, so I am leaning toward recommeding the Bezerker for you. My experience with the Guardian as a tank is limited, but I understand they have the best set of taunts, so that would probably be a solid option also. All in all, you'll have a great group with any of those choices and should end up having alot of fun.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One thing, one of your warlocks might want to consider though is that a wizard and a warlock compliment eachother very nicely. The wizard has the same number of aoe lines as the warlock and while the warlock enjoys an edge overall in aoe situations, its not by a large margin and combined the 2 classes mow aoe content down. Plus they do damage to differant resists and their buffs stack. For example the warlock gets a group buff that boosts casting skills. Which will help with resists vs the yellow cons you mentioned. While the wizards gets a + INT, +STR buff that will really help keep the stats maxed for max damage potential, which can be an issue in the early levels. It seems to me that 1 of each would provide a better overall benefit than 2 of either of the classes. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>No matter what you do, I hope that you and your group has a lot of fun. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>If you don't go with a Pally then you will probably get alot of agro issues with 2 Warlocks, even if you do one of the warlocks will either have to hold back a bit or be staring at the floor alot.</P> <P>Like Dajuuk said Wizards complement Warlocks very well and could be a good idea to have them together.</P> <P>However personally I think I would rather have a Swashy or Brigand in the group, they have CA's that do AE/Encounter damage, have utily that will be severly lacking (Evac, Track) and have very good debuffs. You would have more choice in tanks that would be good with a Warlock also then because the Rogue can add some of his agro to the Tank. </P> <P>I think I would go..</P> <P>Tank - SK (Good disease debuffs and ok agro wise if played well) or Zerker (Good AE Damage and taunts)<BR>DPS - Brigand (Good Damage, Debuffs and Utility)<BR>Healer - Defiler (Very nice buffs, debuffs and a capable healer, also has group wards to save your warlocks [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] when he pulls agro)<BR>DPS - Warlock (With all the Disease Debuffing going on will hit very hard <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )</P> <P>Main thing is though make sure you pick a class that would be fun for you.</P><p>Message Edited by Soul_Dreamer on <span class=date_text>06-15-2006</span> <span class=time_text>04:35 AM</span>

Thanks for the replies and ideas <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I agree agro is what it is all about. I have a 70 wizard and if he goes full tilt no one holds agro off of him, not even the pally with amends will hold it after an Ice Nova and Ball of lava a few times or to close together. We were thinking of 2 warlocks and have them "Load balance" basically. None can really lay into it completely but together they should be fairly impressive. Still wandering on the guardian as a meat shield and possibly a templar to keep him standing. The wizard / warlock mix might be nice to. Still discussing all this. Thanks for the insight!<div></div>
<DIV>The best warlock AE group set up imo is:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Pally MT</DIV> <DIV>Shadowknight</DIV> <DIV>Templar</DIV> <DIV>Defiler</DIV> <DIV>Warlock</DIV> <DIV>Warlock</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Why? Because with this set up you put the pallys amend spell on the Shadowknight and if agro bounces it bounces between the tanks. The Defilers Wards will keep the group alive if Agro does bounces to the non tanks and their AE posion debuff helps the warlocks DPS. Warlocks can go nuts in this set up...You may however replace the defiler with a Coercer and get mana regen, AE stuns, and addtional hate gain on the tanks this would also be a nice setup...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Modean on <span class=date_text>06-15-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:16 PM</span>
