<div>can some 1 plz help me i would like to know wat class i should choose beetween a wizard and a warlock. i plan on grping alot with a berserker friend thanks for all replies:smileyhappy:</div>
<div>well warlocks only have one out of enconter aoe and zerkers usually can pull lots of encounters and AoE like mad and I know wizards have two out of encounter aoe's that may be better suited for that aspect of the game. but if you plan on having one encounter with multiple mobs like RE than a warlock is very very nice to have along.</div>

<div></div><p>Ok, i was gonna have this as its own thread, but here's my perspective. I have a 66 wizard and a 51 warlock.</p><p>If i could only have one character it would be the wizard.</p><p>Why? Because, in my opinion, being "god of AE" isn't all that great. Maybe in raids it is, but I don't raid.</p><p>First of all, we can rarely use our AE's to our full potential (aka "balls to the wall"<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, or were going to grab aggro off of most tank classes. Pallies are our best bet, but even then its not a sure thing.</p><p>Second of all, I find the AE capabilities of a wizard generally to be more than sufficient. I have never, ever, found myself, as a wizard, saying "darn, we would have lived if I could just put out a little more AE." Group mobs are generally pretty weak and go down fast. Between Glacial Wind, electifying flash, fiery inferno, forge of ro -and to a lesser extent, fusion - the group mobs drop pretty fast.</p><p>You know what kills my groups the most? Triple ups. Especially nameds. And those obviously need good single-target DPS. Even on my wizard I wish I had better single-target DPS. Now, I don't have a very high level warlock, but at 51 his single target DPS is pathetic. He gets out-dpsed by my wife's 51 SK regularly. Very disappointing.</p><p>Plus, well, I think overall wizards have better buffs and utility.</p><p>That's my take anyway.</p>

I play a 51 warlock and my usual group is has a 51 sk as a mthow in the hell are you getting out dps'd by a sk?are you only fighting yellow / oranges where you are getting constantly resisted? if so any caster class would get just as many resists.to the op - it all depends on the play style you want. many other threads on that topic so I wont repost.cheers<div></div>

<div></div>Warlocks only really shine when - a lot of in combat ae encounters (like PPR), mobs are much higher con, have hate reduction in the group, ae encounters don't die too quick. Basically my point is warlocks are extremely situational and you can seriously live without them because there is so much ae dps in raids.

<div><blockquote><hr>graxnip wrote:how in the hell are you getting out dps'd by a sk?<div></div><hr></blockquote>On single target we're pretty much neck and neck. And its not hard for an SK to out-dps a warlock on single target, especially if they have HT up. Of course, I blow the SK away on AE.</div>

Yeah we are at a disadvantage to Wizards as we have poorer utility (no utility in my opinion) and less single target options to their AOE options. We shine in AOE , but quite rightly with no Pally you have to hold back as the mobs will peel of the tank and head your way.<div></div>
