I've been playing an SK since launch and decided to see what the other classes offer. I'm curious to get input about which of the two classes is more fun to play? My play times are mostly split between solo and guild groups. Any tips or advice?Thank you in advance.

Well if your asking between a warlock and a coercer, i would go warlock. that is unless you are up to the ginormously challenging role of a coercer. My main is an illusionist, and as one we have endured many a hard ship till LU13, but unlike our coercer bretheren, we've even had it easier. don't get me wrong, the coercer class is very fun and cool and still has alot of potential, but, if you aren't willing to put up with the headaches, then roll a warlock. as an SK, your familiar with poison and disease damage. that can be to your advantage. Both the illus and coercers give pitiful dps with the spells we cast, so if dmg is your thing, again, go warlock.

Bst advice would be to read the forums and listen to pro's and con's of each class. ask around in game to to get insight on the classes.

Coercers solo with a charmed pet, warlocks solo by the root and nuke technique (at least at the early levels) and move on to the find-a-group-of-single-or-double-downs-and-aoe technique.Warlocks are solely about damage. Their spells take a while to get off, but when the do, they do lots of damage to lots of MoBs. You will be tanking a lot in groups. On raids, you will mainly be using your less effective single target DD spells.Coercers will charm MoBs solo. Their damage output is lower than the sorceror and summoner classes, so it will take a bit longer. Plus, you have to worry about charm breaking. Do not expect to have a large KVD ratio. In groups, you will probably forgo the pet and haste the melees (easier than messing with a pet). In pick up groups you might try and mez, but most players do not know how to deal with mez and sometimes it is counterproductive in fast experience groups (as aoe taunt, DS, and aoe DD (from say warlocks) make the fights shorter). Your stuns and stifles will not work on epics and your power drains will never drain heroics completely in fights (read as useless). In the end, picking a class depends on your playstyle. If you say you want to play a pet class and you want to do lots of damage, I think your route is with a summoner. I like my warlock (and my illusionist), don't get me wrong. But neither class is spectacular. As an alt, you don't need fireworks, right? You just need a way to vent differently than what your main does. Just decide how you want to play, and pick the appropriate class.
