I rolled a warlock recently and managed to make it to 22nd level without too much trouble, but I've noticed some strange things with roots and I'm wondering if they're buggy, working as intending, or otherwise just weird. I only use my root (Frozen Manacles currently, Adept 3) when soloing or on adds when grouped. Solo: If the mob breaks the initial root and I try to re-root it, it never works. (If it resists my first root, I can try again and root it just fine.) The rooting animation will play on the mob, there will be no "Resisted" message, and the icon will show under the mob's name, but the mob continues to chase after me. Huh? Only 1 root per encounter? The root might be breaking immediately from the last couple ticks of damage from one of my DoT's but it happens every single time, and I can normally fire off 5 or 6 spells before my root breaks so that seems suspicious. Again, this happens when I'm soloing so no on else is breaking the root. Grouping: Rooting adds never seems to work either. Typically what happens is this: We're fighting stuff and The Add wanders over and aggros the tank. I cast FM, make sure it wasn't resisted, and hit my "rooted" /gsay macro. The tank moves away, but the add just follows right along as if my root didn't exist. The adds health bar never dips so the root's not being broken by damage. Again, huh? Thanks! -Will <div></div>
