Do I play my Sorcerer as a Warlock and just don’t know it? [Archive]

<DIV> After getting Conflagration as Master II, I’ve been laying off the single target spells and using mostly AoE stuff. For instance, I pull small groups of MOB’s 1 or to levels below me. I can pull then all with lighting shock, which cause some minor damage to them, and as they roll in as a group, Conflagration either kills then all or there is little to finish off. It seems that I rely on AoE stuff to level fast on lower level MOB’s as opposed to just going after big single target stuff. After all, there seem to be more linked MOBs than single solo ones wondering around. I’ve tried the 1 on1 uber encounters and while I can pull down Heroic MOB’s with the Root and Nuke, I get to kill faster making more experience just taking on stuff a little lower in level by hitting massive groups with a few AoE spells. In fact, I’ve been known to travel from group to group dragging them all together and cutting loose with those AoE spells. Its pretty cool to se all the MOB’s drop at the same time. True, I take some damage but it minor compared to the destruction I cause. Do the MOB’s become so powerful later on that I can’t stand there for the short time I need to fire off a second AoE before they gank me? I do this now as a Sorcerer not a full-fledged Warlock or Wizard. As a side note, I’ve made a ton of gold doing this and find my bags full of stuff to sell to venders or even on the boards. Dropping an AoE attack is almost a gold mine for collecting loot. Is this how a Warlock usually plays out? Do they continue to take on multiple MOB’s in mass? I solo almost exclusively and this has worked for up to level 17 or so and shows no slowdown yet. Soon at the pace I’m going, I will hit 18/19 and will have to decide Wiz or Warlock. It seems that my playstyle leans to Warlock but I’ve never played one so it’s hard to say. So …. Is this the real playstyle of the Warlock or is it just a transition period and the real playstyle of a Sorcerer that will change dramatically and come to a screeching halt if I become a Warlock? Will my Master II Conflagration spell do less and less damage until it becomes a useless spell? Thanks for the answers in advance! </DIV>
