Yes, that's what it means.  Targeted AE's hit the entire encounter and PBAE's (targetless) hit only 8 mobs now.  Makes TONS more sense, and will do TONS more damage.

<P>Also, about summon shadows....</P> <P>If you look further down in the patch notes, it says that it no longer prevents indirect AoE's.  So is that whole part of the spell no longer in effect.  They definitly confused me with those 2 statements.</P> <DIV>Edited to add quotes from LU9 notes</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From the general spell and combat art section</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>"- Evacs and other beneficial AoE spells will now land on friendly targets using spells that prevent harmful AoE spells (such as the Warlock's Summon Shadows)."</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From the Sorc section</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>"- Summon Shadows no longer prevents indirect area of effects."</DIV><p>Message Edited by Walker76 on <span class=date_text>11-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:47 AM</span>

<P>Not to be a downer or anything but almost every encounter in the game is 5 mobs or less. Its a nice change for the extremely rare situation though.</P> <P>I do not like the limitting of the PBAoE however. That's like saying an explosion in the subway only hits 8 of the 20 people that were standing next to the bomb. Can you say DUH?!</P>

<DIV>There are quite a few on raids and other areas where I have seen even 10+ mobs granted vast majority is 5 or less it will still be nice.  There have been alot of 6 mob encounters though that I have seen and this is a most welcomed change I really hated seeing one mob in the green as devastation was doing it thing.</DIV>

I would have LOVED this change, when I was still hunting in Zek or EL. But I still think it's cool.

Hi everyone lv 46 warlock here I have devastation adept 3 in bank and i read in the description that it still hit only 5 mobs and not the whole encounter. Did any lv 50+ test devastation? Does it only hit 5 mobs or is the description wrong (ie they forgot to update it)? <div></div>
