View Full Version : SoET or Null Distortion Master 2?

<DIV>So, what's the consensus here?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Like most warlocks, I originally chose SoET at level 54. The developer who responded to our questions about the seal line seemed to act as if it were 'working as intended.' The extra damage promised in Null Distortion Master 2 over my current adept 3 version, however, looks like it will have a more immediate, tangible effect in regular usage (I can't see my guild raiding red conned mobs anytime soon).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only thing I fear is that I'll suddenly notice a dramatic increase in fizzles/resists if I /respec and opt for ND Master 2 and updgrade SoET to adept 3. And, it's kinda lame that I already wasted the T6 rare on having ND made into an adept 3 and I'm not even sure whether to have SoET made into an Adept 3, unless it's really worth it. Again, I'm not even positive there will be a difference between SoET Master 2 and Adept 3 :smileymad:. ::Sigh:: What I would do for a little clarity, instead of misdirection and glib, obscure half-answers to our very important question regarding the skill buf.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please post your own plans and give reasons in support of them (and don't let this evolve into a flame war--i.e. "learn how to play your character," etc.).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks all and good hunting,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kairos</DIV> <DIV>58 Lock/Unrest</DIV>

<P>I'm getting the Null Distortion master 2 for the simple fact that i NEVER use my SoET ever and fizzle maybe .000000001% of the time i do cast.</P> <P> </P> <P>until there may be some BIG difference on what the spell does, Null is best option IMHO</P>

<DIV>The wizards balls of incineration maxes at 2750ish damage at master 2.  I would expect ours to be right there with it so a good 400 more to max damage is my guess.  Oh and I will choose null distortion master 2 I got both ebon thought and distortion at adept 3 as i currently have dark nebula at master 2. </DIV>

Seems that a higher skill in disruption would lessen the chance of a fizzle, or what amounts to spell failure. Not sure how skills relate to resists, though, as I always play with the Seal buf up.<BR></P>

<DIV>I got Seal Ad3 made last night and plan to respec to Null Distortion as soon as I log in today.  For me, damage is the reason I became a Warlock and my damage spells are most important.  Given that, I didn't upgrade Dark Nebula or whatever (which is damage) because I hardly ever use that spell. =P</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>Disruption (DD) spells have a 0 chance to fizzle. So the buff does absolutely nothing for nuke fizzles as there are none.</P> <P>Null Distortion is the best option unless you've already invested rares in other things.</P>

Hoosierdaddy was right indeed, I kinda figured Fizzling was also related to Focus but I was wrong =) <div></div>

Null Distortion or Dark Nebula depending on which you like more. The seal line hardly does anything at all in the first place and it will make even less of a difference from adept3 to master2, and i really mean those extra few points will do nothing for you. <div></div>

ND used to not be worth a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] due to its long cast time and potential damage of 900 (lol).  Now with master 2 at capped int I am hitting 2700-2800dmg max on it.  This is such a great change, I can actually cast this on a raid now instead of Nil Absolution.   I did not waste a rare making it adept3 because it used to suck.  I just got an extra vanadium, then /repsec'd, then had SOET made into adept 3.  I am happy.  Now all we have to wait for is for ND to get nerfed into the <2000hp range. PS- Ball of Incineration is in the 3000's, something like 3250 I believe.</span><div></div>

Actually Nul Distortion Master 2 with int 436 it do nowhere near 2700 more like 1400 ..... or better say it do 1400-2700  so instead of averaging ~1600 per pop (adept 3 /436 int) its now averaging ~2050-2100 (master 2/ 436int) - which is substential gain

Yes we all know the range, there have been multiple pictures and posts on it, thanks for protecting the obvious. <div></div>

<DIV>Well its obvious that for some ppl apperent that spells always do maximum listed damage .... which is not that obvious for me</DIV>

<P>I never had SoET at master 2, I took Dark Nebula master 2. Yesterday I respec'd and selected Null Distortion master 2. I don't understand why anyone would pass up a real, verifiable, substantial boost in damage  for some nebulous, situational improvement in resists. If it was a trade-off between an intelligence buff (which won't stack with other classes) or SoET I could understand, but passing up more damage when you're a damage class seems silly.</P> <P> </P> <p>Message Edited by MilkToast on <span class=date_text>11-10-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:47 PM</span>

ND master II realy kicks [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. For a nuke that is suposed to do 2.5k and then hitting for 4-5k in raids. Realy amazing. I would go for that one, other class can stack with our SoET if necessary. <div></div>
