<DIV>Just currious,i allways thought the Netheros/Protofale spells were considered kamakazie pets if you will, meaning that they do ok damage over time, and if killed/duration ends, then they would deal heavy damage to their foes?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well, i have come to find the wizard's protoflame does infact do a heat based AOE damage (in the 200-300 range if im not mistaken?), wich is nice.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>BUT...<isnt there always a but :smileywink: ></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Netheros has no terminating effect what so ever (trust me.. dueled a guardian friend of mine, and he killed poor Mr Wuggles so many times when i sent him to him)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think giving netheros about a 300 single target life tap (hp goes to warlock) on temination would make this spell with the extra effort of requireing a nil crystal.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kinda sucks that we have an extra hardship to deal with (nil crystal) and get a less-effective pet than our wizard bretheren.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What ever would be most judicial, be it a 300 or so life tap, or a small fear or such, but we kinda need something to make this spell useful. Or the devs could quadroople it's HP (my adept1 seems to have about 500 hp and no defense) and give it a tiny taunt attached to it's Grim distortion mini-spell it casts, to make up for it not having a termination effect and since it requires a nilcryistal. (nothing compairible to a conjuror's tank pet of course)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just curious as to what you other warlocks think, i have noticed that most warlocks just dont use this spell on a regular basis, and im guessing this is why. </DIV> <DIV>Why cast it solo when it's just gona die 3 seconds later with no benefit to you? or is a group/raid setting where 1 aoe could knock it out (waiste of power and a nil crystal)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, would love some dev feedback on this (though i know it's unlikely, even thoughthey have been makeing alot of good replies as of late).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To sum it up:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Option 1:</DIV> <DIV>(*) Give it a termination effect upon it's death and/or when spell's duration ends (suggesting a 300 or 400 'ish life tap , hp to caster, or a 6 second fear, but i prefer the life tap :smileywink: )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Option 2:</DIV> <DIV>(*) increase it's hp by 400% (making it about 1000 to 1500 hp or so, just some where in that range)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(*) add a taunt effect to it's mini-spell it casts</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or you could do a slight mix of the two:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Give it a base hp of 800, a 300 life tap to, hp caster, upon termination, and a very high taunt value (meaning it tries to get it'self killed) and perhaps a lower duration? maby make it last only 20 seconds, and make it taunt well enough that it will attempt to be killed (this works well with the 25 second recast allready on the spell)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That last option makes it more kamakaze rather than a dot with a pritty face, so i kind of prefer it, but i understand if the last option is unfavorable to some as it would appear to be possibly to much? Values are easily changeable to make it more balanced if devs see fit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Toodles!</DIV>

I like it the way it is except one change. I'd rather it did melee damage and not poison spells. After all, best time to use it is when your vs tough mobs who you can't really cast on cause of resists to poison. Does not good if the demons resisted as well.

<DIV>Got to admit you are right on that one = D so cool but sooooo frail lol...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Really though, considering we have to put forth more efort (there fore more power actually for the crystal debuffs), and get less of a return than wizards, i feel kind of shafted.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Even if it's a small 200 hp life tap for us or something, atleast it's something = )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Toodles!</DIV>

It won't get the life tap since you could use it to heal yourself up. Root a heroic mob, send in demon and in 3 seconds of pet reaching mob its toast and you gain 200 life points. Repeat tell you're back to full. Since the demon gets maybe 1 hit in before he is utterly squashed, having agro from a blue plus heroic, there is little risk of it braking the root. I love it when he heals himself, not sure why...I just think it's neat.

I never die out of power, I die out of health.Maybe it's level related since he scales but mine often heals himself for 700 a pop and it's not a life tap. He forgoes doing damage to heal himself. Gives him half or tad less health back so I figure he's around 1.8-2k hit points. Of course vs heroic that hit just 700 plus thats still 2 to 3 hits.He is the coolest dot, though the rotting puppies of the necro are cool too.<p>Message Edited by Grimsore on <span class=date_text>11-10-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:53 AM</span>

I just use him to pull groups together for Bony Grasp, or to add a tiny bit of DPS in a longer fight when grouped. Sometimes he distracts a mob long enough for me to root and back away, though. :smileyvery-happy:

Yeah, he's nice to pull mobs together. His current poison spells will proc Dark Broodlings. I'd rather have that than having him hit with melee damage. <div></div>
