It looks like Lockjaw is immune to poison.......what are we as warlocks supposed to do? Do you have any suggestions on how to defeat him?

We had a lvl 52-60 raid team to defeat him, we had two warlocks in the team. I was 60 and the other was 58. TBH I only used 4 spells, Thwart and Ice spike for damage, the low level heat cold debuff with a little dot in it and Ice flame. The trick is to still do ok damage is to have a troub and illusionist in your group. Their procs will add up. I saw Ice spike proc an extra 600damage a few times. Lockjaw isnt too hard. But the poison immune isnt fun for warlocks.

Just complete the Splitpaw line of quests (Very easy btw) and you can buy this spell of the merchant in splitpaw. Its really our only decent dmg spell on poison immune mobs. Pretty much a must have if you are going to raid, until they fix our spells.

hmm, you know what? I already have that spell, but never thought I would have to use it since it is a "lowbie" spell........thanks for the tip

also dont forget flashfreeze/thwart as they are cold based spells and actually do land on him.....and all our other nukes when we were sorcerors as they are heat/cold based.
Message Edited by maddawg138 on 11-01-2005 09:45 PM

i still like icy flame as well.

very functional spell in general for filling in gaps between cast timers - only draw back is short range

All those other nukes are on the same timer as Word of Force though so that would be a problem. Cycle WoF and Blaze along with Freezing Whorl for some weak DoT dmg. Mix in Thrwart and Ice flame and tell your raid leader to put a troub and a wiz in your group :smileyhappy:

I should probably also use Vivid Seal to get some int and str in return (I have Master1), insted of using Seal of Ebon Thought that does nothing for me.....how funny is that? I never thought I would have to use low level spells to defeat 60+ epic. We really need our disease / poison spells balanced.

Yeah and if there is encounter mobs that are immune to poison like the goo cubes in Living tombs raid instance. I use master 2 of conflaguration too. BTW those goos are also immune to disease making necros as useless as us on them. So if they ever give us disease based damage spells we may still be out of luck on some encounters.

P.S. On a side note though Lockjaw is really [Removed for Content] compared to most DoF raid mobs so just pump out what you can and all should be well.

Message Edited by Max122 on 11-02-2005 08:44 AM

I am not sure he is immune to poision, just HIGHLY resistant. SOS and DI were landing on him. Never really got any good debuffs on him, so none of my other spells landed.

Did have Blaze M2 spell though !!!!!

Message Edited by Mandaloran on 11-03-2005 07:38 AM

I dont want to see any nerf but I see several time that all other poison based spells bonce out of mob - DI stack ... well Devastation sometime also pierce resistance as well. Classical example Meathooks

Devastation and DI have secondary effects. You might check your log and see if the damage is actualy done or if it is just the other effect that landed.
