I have been trying to work through the combat changes and let me start off by saying:

*I am not an "uber" player- never will be. - All of my spells are Adept 1 or app IV - its what I can afford. Decent but not incredible equipent.

* Im not complaining or praising the changes- just trying to adjust. - I am primarly a solo player due to time constraints and RL interuptions during playing.

Im finaly at level 40 and struggling to make experiance. I would appreciate some useful advise .

Thanks in advance.

At your level i spent most of my time in the Feerrot killing the lizardmen not far from the entrance on the right hand side. They are static with no wandering mobs unless you go too far in, but you have to be careful because they are 50% solo groups and 50% heroic groups.

I think they range from 36-40 in lvl in groups of 2-5 and are pretty easy to kill with our AOE.

My tactic was pull one with Nil Distortion, Greivous Blast as they got into melee range, then Abysmal Fury, Nil Absolution and a few DD spells to finish off whats left (If any).

That is basically my tactic for all groups of mobs and as long as you are careful with Abysmal Fury it can really add to your AOE damage.

Good luck!

Since Bony Grasp is now encounter only, and not area of effect, I usually open negotiations with it, followed by HO Trigger, Big AE nuke (I took Null absolution Master 2 @ 34), ND for the kill on one, target next, HO Trigger, Soul Flay, Big AE, fight over. That basic pattern will work for most groups. If root breaks after the AE, you can still usually burn em down before dying.
