Where are our 51+ AE spells?

<DIV>bwhahaha... well that's just great.<BR>Was looking over the Wizards' 50+ list too and there are no 'deals massive direct damage' or whatever spells (I have no idea of their spell line) so seems they probably got a tier 6 shaft too. Not entire sure about that and this is NOT the thread to start a "awww but Ma!! the Wizzes got an uber almighty upgrade waaa!" hehe.<BR><BR>So as people are leveling, has anyone gotten a spell yet that has made them go "omg this totally owns!"?<BR>I know I only bothered to get an App4 Null Distortion as I've no great need for an Adept 3 at this point (group, group, group) and the App4 is only a 200max dam jump over the NIl Dist Adept 3.<BR><BR>The sad part is, I've found 5 rough pearls so far, and all my excitement as to what Adept 3s I can get is non-existant. Instead I've been looking at the pearl offhand talisman, rings etc...<BR><BR>Just any decent non-PBAoE upgrade would have been nice, but hey, sh*t happens, and it happens a lot around here <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Yeah, I have to agree that unlike grinding through the 40's where there was a tangible reward at the end (namely Devastation), looking at the 51+ spell list there really isn't anything to get excited about. Other than Null Distortion and Soul Blister upgrades, everything else seems a bit...well...mediocre. Now it may be the case that the three 'new' spells will turn out to be nice (Dark Infestation/Null Caress/Netherous Realm), but other than that.... <div></div>

<P>You get very nice spells at lvl 52 55 and 58, the new spelsl actualy. One can teleport mobs around you and then stun them, one stuns and casts broodlings on mobs who come to close of you. I don't recall the third one, but I am realy looking forward for those spells.We might not get very nice other spells, but that's probably why they made those 3 new spells. </P>

<DIV>Maybe their effective casting lvl is ok. We shall see when I can begin raiding and check out the dmg logs for the little guys. But as of right now on group mobs they are pwning. 61-70 we really should see a boon to damage all our big aoes and nukes except possibly our soul line should be getting upgraded with that expantion we can hope that it's not another year b4 we see that.

Really wouldn't mind waiting a year for the next expansion, I'd rather have one good expansion a year than a crappy one every 6 months. I'd also like to have sufficient time to get to lvl 60 and enjoy the new end lvls for quite some time. The future adventure packs should help a lot to alleviate any boredom that might arise once you dinged 60 and did some high lvl DoF raiding for some time. Even though Harclave was bad because it ruined the economy and grouping, Splitpaw was still a good adventure pack and I wouldn't mind buying other ones like it (even though it's pretty cheap that they used 1, maybe 2 layouts for absolutely every zone in that adv pack and just altered their appearence by using obstacles, walls, etc.). <div></div>

<DIV>Personally if the are going to do a 14 level spell upgrade progression i would like to see 15 level increases with expantions so we aren't stuck in a rut of gettting only our dd or our ae spells upgraded in a expantion our spells are all clustered in a few levels for each damage type</DIV>

Where can you get your spells? I just dinged 51, and I've to say, I felt somewhat left in the cold with questions: "I probably have a new spell now, right?" "I wonder what kind of spell it is?" "I wonder at from which NPC I can buy an app II and where the heck is that NPC? scribe in qeynos? golden sceptre in Maj'Dul? one of the 3 factions? "I even wonder what it is called so I can ask a sage perhaps?" I don't wanna pay a sage without knowing the type and stats of the new spell, maybe it's worth to get adept3 immediately, maybe it sucks and the appIV is ok for me? Apparently, you need a faction with one of the 3 groups in Maj'Dul, but my faction isn't good enough yet.... Am I missing out on something or does this simply suck? <div></div>

As to where our 51+ aoe's are that we are now specialists of we jsut don't get them 2 of our aoe's were level 50 spells and the previous one was 48 all i can say is that we should get a massive boost in effectivness with the next expantion where by the time we are 60 we will be suffering from using green spells vs all the mobs because our aoe's come in the late 40's so buy 65 we should be seeing our next set of upgrades to these lines which will be quite a boon and i see everyone complaining massively because we will have suffered for an entire expantion getting mainly worthless spells or nerfed spells and then in the next expantion when we get a boost in power again everyone will complain that we are way over powered again because we get 3 upgrades to our major damage spells in that expantion and are left getting beaten on by the nerf stick again because everyone notices when there is a massive improvement to a class not the fact that we will have been suffering for 6-12 months waiting to get upgrades to the spells we specialize in.
