Hi all,

I'm in a medium-sized guild and we are just starting to raid (learning the good old-fashioned way...by getting smacked around a lot, lol.) A couple of guildies have heard that AE attacks will cause the aggro to "go haywire." Is this true for this raid? I have not read anything about this being the case, providing that the tank has solid aggro on all the mobs. Could some of our expert raiding warlocks shed some light on this issue please? And any other tips you could share for this raid would be very welcome Thanks in advance!

There is an epic x4 nightblood (can't remember his name) that is accessed via MG that casts an AOE memblur that seems to cause aggro to be reset, when this happens all hell breaks loose and anyone can end up with aggro. I've never seen any unusual aggro problems with the x2 version of MG.

Not sure what all classifies as spoiler info but some strategy is below, if you want to figure out how to do this for yourself you probably do not want to read the rest below etc:

The agro problem with MG x2 instance is when you kill 1 of the adds agro resets, its same in alot of zones like Nek castle revisited etc that all in encounter reset and attack randomly when one dies. There are a couple solutions to this problem, first being having an enchanter to mez all adds and always take out the ^^^ first regardless. If you kill one of the others and the ^^^ resets agro off main tank ppl go down quick especially if he turns and starts his aoes. Another tip is to get a 50 monk in the raid, they can stifle the ^^^ for 20 out of 30 secs and if timed properly stun it a good bit of the other 10 secs till stifle comes back up. After ^^^ is down rest of it is cake, take out the ^^ then other 2 little wyrms. This can be done without the enchanter and just leaving the adds untouched on MT, but the monk stifle is pretty important. If you have enough healers to deal with aoes I'm sure you could do it without the monk just a little more risky.

Thanks for the replies! The aggro reset explains what we've been experiencing in there and this was the first post I've seen that mentions it (a couple more posts have popped up now). Guess I'll stick to DD for this raid

We are missing a few key classes, but we do have a level 48 monk that we will try to get to level 50 asap to try your suggestion
