Suffocating Breath Master 1

Just wanted to get some advice on a Master 1 Suffocating Breath a buddy of mine looted and gave me the other day.  I really havn't heard anything good on this spell and thought maybe i might be better off selling it and getting an adept 1 and other gear, or is it something that being master I might actually use more often.  I happend to be 23.8 when he gave it to me, so it is really time to either scribe or sell it now.  Thanks.

What are the stats on it? Is it still worse than Ice Spike at Master 1 level? If so then look at it this way. Who in their right mind is going to pay good money for it? May as scribe it and hope that the combat update makes it useful. <div></div>

<DIV>As is, it's not a very good spell.  I kept the spell on my hotbar until it's upgrade, Dark Pyre, just to use to finish/progress that HO.  But as a master, it'll prolly be about as good as Ice Spike Adept3 and it's poison based with the potential to stifle, so might actually be pretty useful if you are near level 24.  (I still have Ice Spike Master I on my main hotbar)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you're already in your 30s, I'd say bank it and see if it gets better after revamp; might be able to get a decent amount of money if that spell line gets a little better dmg assigned to it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But, then, if your buddy gave it to you -- and assuming you don't plan to give it back and say it's kinda crappy, sell it -- it'd be kinda rude to sell it yourself for the profit, just scribe it and make the most use out of it.</DIV>

Thanks for the info on the current usefullness of the spell as it stands now.  I think I'll go ahead and scribe it, as it does give a poison damage, rather than a cold damage, which I really hadnt thought about.  Thanks again for the help.

I still use mine at level 50, damage is 238-397, 2 sec cast, 4 sec recast. I use to complete HOs with a flame icon and it also has a stifle. Not a great spell but it has some uses.
