I have a few questions about +disruption items I was hoping someone can answer. - What does the effect do? My guess is, it increases the effective casting level for disruption-based spells (e.g., a 30 warlock with +2 disruption gets resist rolls on nukes that a 32 warlock would get)? Am I close here, or completely off base? - Does +disruption add damage to spells? - Do these stack, or does the highest take over? Say, I have a +1 disruption staff; later I equip +1 disruption belt. Do I now have +2 disruption total bonus? Thanks! <div></div>

AFAIK... All it should do in effect is less fizzles and less resists. A level 30 Warlock with +2 disruption is the equivalent of a 30.4 Warlock since we get 5 points of Disruption per level. It won't add damage since it doesn't affect spell mastery. +Noctivagance should do that assuming you haven't mastered the spell. They should stack like any other stat. <div></div>

They do stack, I can get myself to 257 disruption with the stuff I have. They do affect resist rate, I was easily hitting red-con raid mobs when I had this stuff on (and the raid mobs were red, obviously). People say they don't affect damage. I say they should, but I haven't any data to prove that they do or not. <div></div>

No, it should not; as someone said earlier, Noctivigance affects mastery, not disruption.  +disruption is going to give you less resists/fizzles...its the same when you level up subjugation to make monsters more succeptible to stuns and roots; it never increases (for example) flashfreeze's damage, only its "to hit rate." <div></div>

Look at your spells. It says requires Warlock (30) and mastery at Disruption (175) (or whatever). Higher disruption = closer to mastering = higher damage. <div></div>

That's true. Not sure why I thought Noctivagance was the mastery number. Anyway it'll all be irrelevant once the update arrives and spells no longer grow <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. So if Disruption does affect damage (for non-mastered spells) what does increasing Noctivagance do? Simply prevent spells like Vulian Interference from stopping you using your newest abilities? <div></div>

People say that the wand of Noc does increase you spell damage, and increasing my disruption doesn't increase my damage (at least by any amount that I've noticed). I'm just saying that looking at the spells you'd think it would increase with extra disruption, but then again, it's probably borked in some way <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. <div></div>

<DIV>With Wand of Nocvigance mastery Adept 3 Devastation ticking over 700 sometime so Nocv definitely increase damage output for not mastered spells (aka Dev, Nil Abs)</DIV>
