View Full Version : Red Star-icon in HO-wheel not working on raid mobs?

Why can't we complete an HO on a raid/epic mob when the "red star" icon is up? I get all these icons flashing "click me, click me", but they all give me "Target too powerful" message. I was just wondering, coz my fellow Conjuror has no problems with it and has to finish them in stead. Always, I thought this to be a bug of some kind, but despite numerous LU's nothing has changed... <div></div>

<DIV>It's because a lot of our spells that are the red stars are stuns, which in turn don't work on epic mobs. Try Dark Nebula, or any spell in that series line. Gets the wheel done. It's what I use in raids.</DIV>
You can also use Nihilism to complete the HO as long as you're not standing to far away from the tank in which case you might have to switch target to cast it.

But completing this HO will break mezz upon mezzed mobs. But as will do a wizard or any other mage completing it. So if what you meant by "can't AoE" was "you don't want break mezz (cause group as asked for it for example or situation needs it, who knows)", completing this HO with a single target spell will be as bad. In fact, with a chanter mezzing, you can AoE, as long as you use green background AoE, and you don't cast AoE dots if there's non yet mezzed mobs that will need to be mezzed. But once a mob is mezzed, green background AoE won't touch them, simply. Here's a <a href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=26&message.id=2719" target=_blank>link</a> that explains precisely what will break mezz. Chanters have a single target DoT they can use to complete this HO.</span><div></div>
