Well, here's my situation. I can afford a second Adept III, but money *IS* a factor - if I buy it, I'll probably need to skimp on my 30+ gear somewhat until I make more gold tradeskilling.Given that, is Flashfreeze Adept III worth buying? I'd love some opinions from lvl 30+ people who have used it. Thanks!

I still use it at 50. The upgrade to it, Deter, isn't much of an upgrade because it has a 4s cast timer compared to FF's 1s timer. The problem is that it's not really a damage spell, so upgrading it won't buy you much damage for your money. <div></div>

I do have an Adept I in my bag... maybe I'll just use that.

Dont buy it if low on money, not worth it. It isnt a dd, it is a stun and the stun effect it the same from apprentice 1 to master 1. If u want to buy it harvest a rare or wait to have enough money to waste on that.

<P>new to warlock boards, heres another view. (just started a warlock alt)</P> <P>There is mention of the new revamp soon hitting test. One of the aspects that will change with the revamp is better scaling of spells from app1 to master 3 and better scaling of teir'd upgrades. Also, and this is important, a reduction of the effectiveness of grey spells used on higher level mobs.</P> <P>These are all considerations, especially for spells that are not in the 40+ range that you have until the expansion.</P> <P>Just a food for thought.</P> <P> </P>

I was wondering, besides the actual upgrading of damage (in this case none) would the Master I / Adept III not also affect the mob level you can hit with it, like say Summon Shadows does? I mean, we all know that hitting a red mob is generally about what resisted all but 15-20%, if you had a Master I or Adept III of this spell, is it possible that your resist rate would drop and you may land 30-40% of this spell when casted on the same mob? If this were the case then I would definitely want it upgraded to Adept III or Master I <div></div>

<DIV>Personally, if money is a factor, I would definitely not get Flashfreeze at Adept 3.</DIV> <DIV>-There is a level restriction on mobs that it will stun (capped at 4<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.</DIV> <DIV>-The damage increase is not significant (it was about thirty when I upgraded it, not sure what the mastered difference is).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Having said this, flash freeze is still a great spell. It is your primary "Oh crap, I pulled aggro/Oh crap, this big mob I was soloing broke root" button. Jump to interrupt whatever you were casting, flashfreeze, reroot, back off. It is also useful in finishing star hos while in groups. Upgrading to adept 3 does not significantly improve the functionality of the spell. It was hardly ever resisted when I had it at adept 1, and it is hardly ever resisted at adept3. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Since you are near level thirty, you should consider upgrading Noxious Bolt (Lvl 30) if you don't take Heneva's Viral Blast later. Painful Meditation/Frozen Manacles/Ice Spike all should be upgraded first before Flashfreeze. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And to answer your question Dubwen, NO it does not affect the level cap.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope this helps.</DIV> <DIV>Alezara</DIV> <DIV>Warlock of the 45th order</DIV> <DIV>Pandemonium</DIV><p>Message Edited by Amistead on <span class=date_text>07-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:59 PM</span>
