BG won't be nerfed until the real combat revamp changes come out.

<DIV>Have you not seen the screeshot a Warlock on test took of the *new* Bony Grasp? Two nights ago, it's duration was changed to 12 seconds. What I'm wondering is whether the spell description still lists it as having a 12 second duration, or whether this change in the test update entails this spell as well. In other words, has Bony Grsap been changed back to its original 36-second duration?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here's a link to the post showing the change already in effect on test:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=24&message.id=8656" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=24&message.id=8656</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Kai</DIV><p>Message Edited by hoosierdaddy on <span class=date_text>06-24-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:42 PM</span>

<div></div>If you read the post you linked to you would see that Blackguard responed saying that the change on test was accidental and not meant to be moved there yet. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Lord_Xyrax on <span class=date_text>06-24-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:43 PM</span>

Exactly. BG was reverted to what it's always been (36 seconds, if you believe the description <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />). But it's worth reiterating that this WILL go live with the combat/spell revamp. (Should we call it EQ2.5?) I can hear the whining already! We can only hope that they'll adjust casting time/recast time/power as well to keep the spell reasonably useful. <div></div>

<DIV>Thank you all very much. I appreciate the clarification. Seems to make much more sense now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Kai</DIV>

<DIV>If I recall correctly, the statement was that the duration was part of a table of control type spell durations...probably there will be more changes than merely the duration. Let's just wait and see.</DIV>
The change was reversed on test, and its now back to the normal 36sec dureation. It was however an intended change, it just wasnt supposed to go live until they did the rest of the combat rewamp changes. Either way, knowing SOE, they will not give us any ability to manage a mob in solo in return for this nerf. The the end result will be that anything than a single solo mob will be impossible to do (well except its a caster, since those will own us now too, even solos). So basicly only single solo non-caster mobs. Either we can nuke it down in 3 seconds, or it will be impossible to kill. Whooope.... that sounds like its gonna be real challanging...... *dripping sarcasm* I oft wonder if it was never intentional that level 50 players should feel slightly powerful at all, but be forced to group up in order to do anything of even slight significance.... The game is rapidly becomming less fun to play as far as I'm concerned. Mana-regen nerfs, caster mobs nerf, root nerfs. Next I guess they will think scouts should do the same dmg as the glass-cannons (oh no, wait. they allready said thats how they intend it to be after the combat rebalance didnt they? Silly silly me...) I might be whining, but it does s*ck a lot to build a character to 50 through months of play, then have your rug pulled from under you, and have core abilities and your most powerful (and hardest aquired items) turned to nerfdust... Maybye they will make paralyzing fear worth using again after the combat rewamp then.... lol, YEA RIGHT! -Stigma <div></div>

<P>This is so typical of SoE it's not funny anymore. I had enough of Sony in EQ1 and all the nerfs, so called fixes, them saying this cant be done and 6 months later lo and behold it came to pass. They basically lie through their teeth and very seldom tell the whole truth or just skirt around the problem when asked about it. This I'm afraid ladies and gentlemen is the way SoE operate and will continue to do so untill their dieing day.</P> <P>Why am I so angry at the forthcoming nerfs, well I will tell you why.</P> <P>There are a 101 things in this game that need fixing before, IMO, this nerfeage/revamp goes live, people still crashing while zoneing, combat bugged, mob pathing, crap loot tables, crap loot, not much vareity for the armour models, not many caster robes worth haveing, no dyeing for the armour, crashing to desktop for no reason, chat doesnt work properly, IMO grp mob nerfeage was uncalled for, game is to easy to level up for the most part, dungeons are to small, 3 grps in PF and u run out of mobs same as RoV same as Runnyeye, Riverval prolly 4 to 5 grps tops, CT 4 to 5 grps tops . Conjurers are still waiting their fix after 3 liveupdates, I havent played mine since she hit 45 and in the mean time have levelled up a Warlock to lev 48, which I enjoyed. As far as the damage outcry we have going on these boards between all classes I think most of it is pretty pathetic and little minds having not much else to keep themselves occupied with. I started a Warlock becasue I wanted large amounts of DPS, lo and behold I have this, I also started a Conjurer because I read the manual etc and that said something like all mages will be very nearly equal in dps etc, this it seems is not true for the poor lil conjuror and I take exception to the fact I played this toon for 4 to 5 months hoping, waiting for a fix which did not arrive, Sony, where is my compensation for playing and paying you to provide me with an acceptable MMORPG without to many faults in it. I do realise that no MMORPG could be released in a perfect state, but nine months down the line we still have Laggy graphics, unaccountable crashes to desktop and a plethora of other stuff that should have been erase a long time ago, SoE you make so much money from this game it would make any normal persons eyes bleed yet you cannot fix these bugs instead you prefer to release these for the most part crap addons to try and keep ppl happy.</P> <P>I have now played my Warlock up to level 48, another 4 to 5 months playing and now, I find this toon, as are others, will be nerfed, spells changed etc. SoE you are starting to take the [Removed for Content] out of your paying clients and ever since EQ1 days I have always though of you as being underhand towards your paying clientel. If you think these are strong or to harsh words then reply with some truthful answers in future, but I believe this is beyond SoE to do this.</P> <P> </P> <P>Many people seek truthful answers on these boards, for the most we/they dont get them, how about showing some goodwill and telling us what ypu are really going to do for the upcoming combat revamp instead of just landing it on our laps one morning ?</P>
<P>Yup, its going to happen albeit it doesn't sound like its coming anytime soon.</P> <P>Am I the only one on the board though that doesn't think this will be THAT big a deal though? I mean, BG is a great spell don't get me wrong, but getting it toned down a bit doesn't seem like anything too disastrous. The only time I really use it now is the solo instances anyways. Maybe its just the places I fight but BG seems like more a hinderance than a help in the outdoor zones. Too many mobs always running around and the AOE is just too dangerous to use. FM still works fine for me at 41, don't know if that will change in the upper 40's. I know it breaks fast but I'm a warlock......mobs die faster<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

No it's not a big deal, just get to lvl 50 before the nerf and you'll be fine. From 50-60 you'll have a small group the whole time and wont need a root. <div></div>
