<DIV>Hey there</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just just a quick tip</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Get to full range of DD and cast that before trying to root!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The way i tend to do it is:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>DD<BR>Freeze (stuns them)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Work out if it's gonna take more than an ice spike to kill it and decide whther or not to root then</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I tend to avoid DOT's so that if I need to root I can usually trust it to hold for nearly 30 secs while DD and Freeze reset.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good luck - at lvl 24 I was laying waste to Nek Beach - pirates are good loot there aswell</DIV>

I'm also a 24 warlock with adept III DD and do just fine. As the below poster said, do DD at max distance then either Freeze em (short duration stun) or Frozen manacles. FM is a longer casting time and you'll probably get hit once, which brings the danger of spell interruption, but then you can back up and start an HO with another DD and let'em have it. Freeze then FM might be the way to go. Stun them then root them then back up. Then again they may resist one of your spells. . .which is a good reason to have Freeze in reserve. That's the way I do it.</span> <div></div><p>Message Edited by Oneira on <span class=date_text>06-10-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:16 AM</span>

<P>I do not particularly care for the DD then Freeze startup, or using Freeze at all unless it is absolutely necessary. Here is why: The refresh timer on your stuns is absurdly long, and automatically using it means that if an add/pop starts beating on you, you cannot stun the thing and apply another root to it. You will most likely die to an add due to tissue paper for armor. I just don't think it is wise to eliminate your only means of buying time to apply a separate root (Atreba's Ethereal Bindings is the name at your level) to an add/pop. Many times as the add is standing there beating on you, and you are attempting to cast the root so you can back up, you will be interrupted continually, plus, by the time you get the thing rooted, the other one is now standing on top of you. </P> <P>Even if there is no add and the target mob breaks root early, can run into the same problem of trying to reapply a root while the MOB continually interrupts you. The stun is nice because it gives you the three seconds needed to reapply root.</P> <DIV>I recommend this instead: (I'll try to make this as generic as possible)</DIV> <DIV>1. Set up at maximum distance that Root (Frozen manacles) will allow.</DIV> <DIV>2. Debuff immediately if you have one.</DIV> <DIV>3. Wait until there are 4.5 seconds left on the refresh timer for FM.</DIV> <DIV>4. Arcane augur.</DIV> <DIV>5. Big Nuke </DIV> <DIV>6. Second Largest Nuke. (If this doesn't finish the HO, so be it.)</DIV> <DIV>7. FM.</DIV> <DIV>8. Repeat as many times as necessary. (Keeping in mind that it is not necessary to keep applying the debuff if it is still running).</DIV> <DIV>If in the event that root breaks, back up two steps to interrupt the spell you are casting, and immediately stun. If the stun lands either apply FM if it is up again, or your secondary root. If the stun is resisted, run.</DIV> <DIV>In the case of an add/pop stun that guy, and put your secondary root on him. Then leave him alone while you continue to work the first guy over. Keep an eye on him and refresh the root on him with same type of root as soon as possible. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just my two cp.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-=Alezara=-</DIV> <DIV>Pandemonium-Unrest</DIV> <P>Message Edited by Amistead on <SPAN class=date_text>06-10-2005</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>11:00 AM</SPAN></P> <P>Message Edited by Amistead on <SPAN class=date_text>06-10-2005</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>11:01 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Amistead on <span class=date_text>06-10-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:02 AM</span>

<P><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" color=#ff0000 size=2>Amistead is correct in the reasoning (adds/pops are annoying)...my only advise is to be well aware of your surroundings and you shouldn't run into the problem of adds, basically solo smart. You certainly don't want to run into a known spawn location as start fighting.</FONT></P> <P><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" color=#ff0000 size=2>At any rate since there is no "Best" way to solo at any level, find out a routine that works for you and you should be OK.</FONT></P>

<P>Yeah, but sometimes the things you gotta solo are in a roaming aggro region. For instance, some guild solo writs are this way, and you don't have a choice about which mobs you are going after. As a side note, it is also good practice for when you start soloing nameds which can one shot you that you keep all tools at your disposal to make sure they never get anywhere near you.</P> <P>-=Alezara=-</P> <P>Pandemonium- Unrest</P>
