<DIV><FONT color=#0033ff>Ok, i cant decide between going wizzy and warlock, however, this char is just an alt, that i wont play often. I dont plan on getting him higher than 25-27 any time soon. So, i know that they are still a lot the same, because they still use most of their bas sorc spells. But, i am just comparing them up to lvl 30. So here are my posotive points on each char, and i would like others to tell me which one would fit me better. Thx a lot.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#0033ff></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33cc00><U>Warlock</U></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33cc00>- I LOVE poison and disease dmg.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33cc00>- I also like dots more than dds', but I know that warlocks arent a dot class, and get very few dots in these lvls.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33cc00>-</FONT><FONT color=#33cc00> Everyone talks about how good they are at higher lvls, and i may get him higher some time in the future.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33cc00>-Finally, i have wanted a warlock for a very long time, and he is the reason i made the char, but im still not sure, because they get less attack spells.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#9933ff></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><U><FONT color=#ff9900>Wizard</FONT></U></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>-From what i gather, they have more attack spells, and i want them more than buffs and such</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>-They get a mezz, which i think is a good utility to have</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>-Also, from what i gather, their health to pwr conversions are better, and they get 2 in these lvls.</FONT></DIV>
<P>Both are great classes and it comes down to personal preference and the way you like to play. </P> <P>At 23 worlocks get Dark Distortion and it's a life changing spell for them. At 27 warlocks get Steal Breath thier big de-buff and coupled with DD you start to see the 1200-1400 hits. At 39 I now hit for 1600-1750 with Nil Distortion and Steal breath.</P> <P>If you can't tell I'm partial to warlocks :smileyvery-happy:</P> <DIV>go with your gut feeling and make your warlock you won't be sorry!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Chipper Bogglecog 39 warlock</DIV>

<DIV>Well... You really will see that Warlock is the better of the two classes until VERY late in the game. Even with me a lvl 50, I can be outdamaged by a Warlock if they know how to play correctly. But... Wizards have the highest damage single target nuke, Ice Comet. That is a lvl 50 spell, so that is endgame.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One thing I should mention about what you posted about Wizards:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900>"-They get a mezz, which i think is a good utility to have"</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff9900></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffffff>Dont even think about the mezz. It is absolutely hideous. Sure I've used it on occasion, but it only lasts 12 seconds and it mezzes you at the same time. This is why we have our Paralyze line of stuns. </FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Both classes have some excellent buffs and single player proc additions that help out in raids quite a bit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As it stands now, Wizards are having issues with high lvl 50+ Epic Raid zones because of the mob's HIGH resistance or immunity to Cold and Fire... which is the damage output for me. That limits us a bit in raids, but our usefulness in power transfer is very helpful. Some Wizards will say that they shouldnt have to do the power transfer thing, but I have to tell you... I have single handedly saved whole raid parties from using those power transfers on healers and tanks to keep us flying.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Warlocks are the more damaging of the two classes at this point. Especially against multiple targets. Their AOE, I'm sorry to say, are FAR superior to that of the Wizard's.</DIV>

If you aren't going to see this toon as a main and plan to play when you get bored I would suggest Wizard. More then likely you wont have to worry about raid mob resists. Evac is great for getting across zones quickly and at those levels a Warlock and Wizard are still pretty much the same thing. <div></div>
At level 45 warlock, I have yet to find my AoE does enough damage to matter. I have tried many times to use AoEs, but it is always faster (and safer) to single target nuke. Tell me if I am missing something. Later, this changes as our best AoEs don't come until levels 48 and 50. Anyways, when someone says it is only "late in the game" that wizards can compete with warlocks in single target damage, it is also only late in the game that warlocks can do decent AoE damage. <div></div>

If you can do more than about 150-200 damage per target with your AOE, then you're doing better than a Wizard lol.

<DIV>Well untill up to lvl 50 warlock have 1 really good AE line and one sorta [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]ty but for big pack if worth casting...</DIV> <DIV>Negative Absolution Master 1 280-342 per target up to 5 target</DIV> <DIV>Null Absolution Adept 1 up to 356 per target + ~160-200 damage dot up to 5 targets</DIV> <DIV>Nil Absolution Master 1 up to 500 damage per target +300-350 damage dot up to 5 targets</DIV> <DIV>All spells on independed timer all have casting time 2s but recast is 20s</DIV> <DIV>Abysimal Fury have very very [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]ty casting time 5s but short recast 15s </DIV> <DIV>do around 250 at Adept 3 ... unlimited amount of targets and do short stifle</DIV>

<P><FONT color=#0033ff>First of all, thx a bunch for your input, but, a lot of the stuff you guys mentioned, were about the AEs, and other spells, in the upper lvls. So, I gather from the posts that... </FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#0033ff>1. The wizards mez is useless, but they get paralyze spells, not sure what lvl though</FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#0033ff>2. Wizards get an evac in thier 20s? I thought it was much much later in the game.</FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#0033ff>3. I should go wizzy because since im not getting to a high lvl, resists from raid mobs wont matter as much.</FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#0033ff>Hm, still not sure, but as of now, im still leaning towards warlock.</FONT></P>
