<DIV>I have got 25gp to spend on an adept3 spell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That can probably afford a T2 or T3 one.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Which one should I upgrade? I needs to be one I will use at level 50, because I dont want to spend 25gp on a spell that wont last me too long. I was thinking of Frozen Manacles, because I see many level 50s still using it in between Bony Grasps.</DIV>

Don't bother with frozen manacles, I'm still using app2 at lvl 50 and I hardly ever get resists. It doesn't matter if it's app1 or master1. Only t3 spell you will be using at lvl 50 is dark pact and I don't suggest that you use your money on that one. You will use steal breath untill you hit 41+ but the upgrade isn't that great from adept1 to adept3. I would just get adept1 spells for cheap and save money for t4 spells. <div></div>

<P>While the resist rate is not affected (at least I do not believe it is) on an adept 3 frozen manacles, it does deal about thirty percent more damage at adept3.  This damage does not seem to affect the time that it takes for the manacles to break.</P> <P>A good number of warlocks get Dark Distortion (level 23) at adept 3 level.  Assuming you are getting BSS as your level 30 training option -it operates on the same timer as DD- the Dark Distortion will continue to outdamage BSS until level 36. This does not make the DD upgrade useless, as in the situation where there are two warlocks in a raid, the DOT component of BSS does not stack.  In that case, one warlock using DD and one using salvo is optimal.  I got both frozen manacles and DD at adept three, and I have never regretted it.  Plus, hitting for 800+ always brought the wows from the crowd.  "Who just hit for 853?" Yeah, that's right.</P>

<DIV>What level were you and what spell hit the 800's+?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also bearing in mind I solo 80% of the time, would DD be worth getting because the DoT on BSS will break my root?</DIV>

<P>Look dont worry about dot part of BSS ... you WILL use detrimal spells on rooted mob - your poison/disease debuff and dot that reduce poison mitingation can brake root as well </P> <P>I'd say upgrade either Frozen Manacle to Adept 3 or Dark Distortion.</P>

<P>My advice would be save your money until level 23 and then upgrade your Dark Distortion to Adept3. At 27 you get Steal Breath and I would recomend upgrading this one also. Once you get these 2 upgraded you will start seeing your DD hitting for 800+.</P> <P>I also have Frozen Manacles at adept 3 and I have never regreted upgrading that one either.</P> <P> </P> <P>Chipper Bogglecog 37 Warlock</P>

<DIV>It would kind of depend what level you are as to what you should upgrade.</DIV>

About frozen manacles I read the LU #9 patch notes and remember seeing that it will only work on mobs up to lvl 35 in the next patch so just something to conisder. I made a DD Adept 3 and have loved it for the short time I have had it <div></div>

Ok, I misread OP a bit, thought he was lvl 25 and he already had DD adept3 or decided to wait for BSS. DD can be a nice upgrade if you want those "wows" but you can still do the best dps in group with adept1 and it can even bring you agro problems with "lousy" tanks. When the new int/wis tune comes out where spells don't scale with level I would think that BSS will out damage DD clearly. There can be stacking issues with BSS when there's another warlock in your group, personally when I grouped with a guildie we didn't have any. I haven't seen that update note about frozen manacles nerf yet but I knew it was coming. Seriously do you get 0% resists with adept3 manacles? I rarely get resists with my app2 so I really doubt that your adep3 can be even better. There are really good T4 spells that you can use your money on, int dolls and rings that will only get better soon. Anyway have fun with your warlock! <div></div>

This will allow you to take Tara's Necrotic Nebula (a 10.7 second stun) training spell at level 40 instead of the Noxious Bolt upgrade.  The long stun is a great spell.

<DIV>Could I have some more info on the stun please? Does it cast initial damage? Does it have a DoT? Whats the recast and cast times? Does it ever break?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And also what differences would there be between Noxious Bolt Adept 3 and the level 40 training upgrade to Noxious Bolt? What is the added bonus on the level 40 training upgrade and does it hit harder?</DIV>
