Thoughts? At first I thought this armor was going to be really good, then I actually saw the stats ... For the price of buying one of the pieces to this set I can buy almost a whole set of mob dropped gear that is more than comparable. The robe itself has no int (although that's no surprise, you need to look to heavy plate for that /boggle) and if you ever order a set of this the standard order is "Everything but the robe and boots". The robe graphic is the same rehashed purple and gold thread that you see everywhere you turn your head. I'm really dissapointed in this, for how rare figwart roots are you would think the armor would really be something special. My setup with T5 player crafted gear at a total cost of 420GP for everything UNBUFFED:HP = 1584Power = 1530AC = 3276My setup with mob dropped gear half-[FaarNerfed!]ed put together on the market for a grand total cost of 120gp UNBUFFED:HP = 1527Power = 1531AC = 3212Worthless waste of money imho.
Message Edited by Kaziq on 02-04-2005 11:10 PM*** edited to show a clearer stat comparison as explained in my post below ***
Message Edited by Kaziq on 02-05-2005 08:38 AM

Well would help alot more to know your level as well. Also all the traits you chose as well far as power regen, power increase, racial traits, etc.

I ask this cause at just level 42 with not a single buff up I run 2038 power and little over 1800health. I use some of the t5 rare crafted items but I also use alot of heritage as well. This includes eyepatch, stein, and jboots for the +int and hopefully soon as completed the GEB.

Did you chose linen or constructor? Did you combine one of each on certain slots to even it out? Did you got for the +health or the +power? Your not telling us beyond that you bought some.

Also.. I have seen just about all gear regardless of level requirement for us casters on market, including a select few master chest drops. So if your bent on making a comparison, at least back it up by telling us which crafted peice you got, list the stats, and then tell us that supposed mob dropped peice that is better and tell us those stats. Cause Something is not adding up right.

From your ac value i will have to think your around level 50 as well. I mean its a good opinion if you dont like it, but by the numbers, its VERY apparent your stretching something to make your opinion sound more sound. Not accusing you, we all get mad and say what we saw, but sometimes and this includes me we stretch it. The tier 5 rare crafted peices rock. To say they do not or are not worth the investment is saying your not even factoring in the hidden bonuses.

You are right I could have been far more detailed in my post and should have been so I will make a clearer comparison and go into much greater detail. First off I did not say the mob dropped was better, I said it was comparable, with my point being that for the drastic difference in price you do not get a huge stat benefit and would be better off not buying this armor unless you have money to burn. So let's compare my equipment slot by slot here. I realize I said mob dropped while my robe is a quest piece, my point is to show gear that is attainable on the market. I am level 48 with all passive int/mana regen traits, not that I can really see how this is relevent when comparing gear stat bonuses vs prices. For the sake of making the comparison clearer to all w/o listing my entire wardrobe and debating those other pieces instead I will edit my above post to show my stats with nothing else on other than the contested pieces, and again buffless. Note that some of my pieces are green while the player crafted is yellow con. I last updated my gear a few levels ago and haven't even looked on the market for better mob dropped pieces so a few of these items are green mob dropped vs some of the best a player can craft for lvl 50.One more thing ... My price per peice here is 70GP per player crafted, to anyone else buying from this crafter on Guk it's 1.25p if you don't have your own roots. 35gp per combine and I paid 35gp for each figwart root. That's a steal of a deal on figwarts. You can debate the price of the combine, I believe it was fair. I was told others want 50gp per combine. Most figwart roots sell from 45gp to anywhere up to 2p.Robe:Mob dropped/quested = Robe of the invoker, 10agi, 6str, 20HP, 36P, 194Dis, 532Mag, ac182. Passive effect = mana regen of 17 mana per tick. Price = 1p.Player crafted = Pristine Tailored Linen Blouse, 9agi, 11str, 39HP, 29P, 532Dis, 290Mag, 172ac. No effect. Price = 70gp / 125gp.Cap:Mob/que = Ice Encrusted Headband, 10int, 5wis, 24HP, 20P, 436Div, 145Men, 65AC. price = 15gp (that's being generous, I've had one listed for a week at 15g on my fulltime market mule).Player Crafted = Pristine Tailored Linen Cap 10int, 10wis, 37Hp, 31P, 436Div, 387Men, 70ac. 70gp / 125gp.Shoulders:Mob/que = Geomancers Mantle, 9sta, 8wiz, 27Hp, 33P, 436Cold, 290Heat, 89ac. Price = 6gp.Player = Pristine Tailored Linen Shawl, 11sta, 9wiz, 31Hp, 37P, 484Cold, 339Heat, 106ac. Price = 70gp / 125gp.Sleeves:Mob/que = Bracelet of the Undying, 8int, 8str, 40Hp, 20P, 387Div, 3s9Poi, 86ac. Price = 8gp.Player = Pristine Tailored Linen Sleeves, 7int, 13str, 36Hp, 32P, 436Dis, 387Poi, 106ac. Price = 70gp / 125gp.Gloves:Mob/que = Constructors Gloves, 9agi, 7wis, 25Hp, 35P, 387Dis, 339Heat, 67ac. Price = 5gpPlayer = Pristine Tailored Linen Mitts, 10agi, 10wis, 33Hp, 35P, 387Dis, 436Heat, 70ac. Price = 70gp /125gp.Legs:Mob/que = Linen Pantaloons, 10int, 6str, 28Hp, 32P, 339Cold, 387Poi, 83ac. Price = 20gp.Player = Pristine Tailored Constructor's Bloomers, 9int, 11str, 27Hp, 41P, 387Cold, 436Poi, 106ac. Price = 70gp / 125gp.So, to tally it in 3 ways here I'll go with my actual cost on mob dropped/quested and my actual cost on player crafted then full cost to someone who didnt' have figwarts and wanted the set.Mob dropped cost = 154gpMy player crafted cost = 420gpOthers player crafted cost = 750gp.I didn't buy the boots and I doubt many will with Jboots quested at 42 so I didn't do a boot comparison. I really also should have left out the robe as very few would buy that too but I went for the vanity boost on it and got burned.
Message Edited by Kaziq on 02-05-2005 09:38 AM

Maybe I am just a [Removed for Content] but doesnt most of our AQ armor seem more appropriate to like a scout with all the agi and str increases, or perhaps a druid or shaman with the +wis. I guess I must be taking crazy pills but shouldnt our class specific armor have +int?

Head, sleeve, legs on left side on all crafted has +int and on dropped gear. So far the only +int robes out there i have seen is oracle robe and rallosian gown. Right side you can get necklace and earring on all crafted gear with +int. You can quest a lowbie ring and also the ancient slayers ring of intelligence once, though i bought one surprisingly off broker for 1p so now i have 2. For wrists you can get treedins mythical symbols with have +5int and 32 health/power, and for belt... well nothing out there is better than fbss really for the +stats and health/power i seen.

But yeah.. through common crafted and most drops.. you got around.. 5 peices with +int that we can wear for armor/jewelry.

I think the t5 pristine armor is pretty decent myself. Except for the robe, cap, and boots, they are all nice pieces. Personally, I have over 3k mana, 2300 hps, and nearly 4800AC with only the 12hr self/group buffs on (no wicked gift). all the crafted t5 pieces are superior to the dropped pieces in almost all areas, especially AC. I'm just upset that they haven't fixed half of the Master chest dropped item effects. We've gotten several items with broken effect such as Intution, Fortitude of the Body, Battlement of the Mind, among other things, and all these effects don't do anything at all until they add an effect for em some day. I have a fortitude of the body necklace and am hoping itll be HP regen once they fix it.

Message Edited by Moraeulftheblade on 02-09-2005 03:20 PM
