Hi there all you wizzy-type people. I'm a dirge, and several of my toon-slots are filled with craftsmen helping my dirge out. I have 1 slot left over, and I think the last toon will be a wiz. I have just spent literally like 2 hours here at work dodging the boss and reading all the info on this thread about wizards, their strengths and weaknesses, their stats, and all the hooplah. I'm left with just a couple of questions. 1). That AGI tree looks very interesting. I'd like to know if the final ability is cutting the recast time on all of our spells? It says "abilities", so I just wanna make sure. 2). Knowing what you know about EOF AA's and KOS AA's, if you were starting all over again, would you put your first points in the EOF tree, or the KOS tree? 3). What are the weapon/offhand requirements for the KOS tree? The guides don't really list them. Specifically, I'd like to know if the AGI and WIS line require something for the non-melee abilities. 4). Do the wards from the EOF tree and the KOS tree stack? I am especially interested in #2. The other stuff I can learn as I go, but I'd really appreciate the input. My goal is a toon that I can set at a slow simmer, and enjoy watching him grow into his power. I've played both EQ1 and 2 since launch, and still haven't really played a wizard deep enough to get to the good stuff. thanks in advance!
Message Edited by TerabithianWhisperwind on 12-11-2006 12:01 PM

1> Yes! all spells, potions, abilities (CoQ/CoF)2> First point for the familiar! From there really depends on personal choice, though 5 into the debuf would probably help.3> For AGI the only reason you need a dagger is for Ambidexterous Casting (melee ability) for the WIS line second hand has to be empty for Freehand Sorcery, Ward of Sages, and Brainstorm (all worth while choices)4> Yes the wards stack with eachother and regen seperately. Also stacks with items that proc wards!Hope that helps, I am AGI/WIS speced myself

Knowing what you know about EOF AA's and KOS AA's, if you were starting all over again, would you put your first points in the EOF tree, or the KOS tree?Hmmm...it depends where you are playing. If on a PvP server my first 10 AAs would likely go into Magi's Shielding ward, followed by 5 in the Rending Icicles line to reduce the chance of it resisting, and to raise the debuff amount. After that I'd go back to KoS AAs and max out AGI. That's just one opinion of many though, plus if you are playing PvE I'd likely put the first 5 into Rending Icicles and then max the KoS AAs. Never underestimate the DPS boost that debuffs provide 3). Specifically, I'd like to know if the AGI and WIS line require something for the non-melee abilities.Wis line requires a 1h weapon and no Symbol in the offhand to be able to get the % DPS boost and Freehand. The AGI tree simply requires a dagger for the first attack you get, and nothing for the rest of the line. That said, I'm not too fond of Freehand in PvP...I definately prefer the % chance to block with a symbol, +700 Mitigation, and + to disruption/Focus from the STA tree, not to mention the tiny HP boost from the +STA. 4). Do the wards from the EOF tree and the KOS tree stack?Yep. They also stack with ward proccing items like the Gown of Glory and the Enspelled Vultak Eye. They can definately be a real life saver. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions you have and enjoy playing your Glass Canon

Just one side note Razerblaze is that the ward of sages willl not work if you have a symbol in your secondary slot, just thought i would throw that out there i tried and only my magi shieding ward was working with the symbol, take the symbol out of the secondary slot and the ward of sages would start working again. I currently have my AAs set to max defense abilities 2300 mit and 7700 avoidance both in the mid 40% vs lvl 70.
