spill the beans wizards/warlocks, where can we port, at what levels do we get ports? are they quested? dropped? do druids get ports too?

what about the translocates mentioned in the patch notes, when do we get those?

this is the one thing I'm excited about!.

It's also worth asking, is spire teleportation wizard only, or sorceror only? Doesn't effect us one way or the other, but I'm curious.

wizard and warlock both get the ports.

The spires we are able to port to are CL, Ant and Greater Faydark Spires. Druids get ports as well but to 5 diff druid rings. CL, Ant, Butcherblock, Steamfont and Greater Faydark. Also we will get a single target Port and a group port for each location.

Also we must have an item in order to use our port which can be bought at the portal trainer for only 30s each or 15g for a stack of 50.

Wow, if this is true, I will be playing my wizzy alot more.

I really did miss ports more then would seem rational.

Its just a "feel" thing.

The quest is super easy to, go to each spire, pick up a scroll, it gives you a quest...you take it back to your mage tower and talk to Portal Trainer and that's it, you get your port spells.

In beta you had to be level 25 for the Ant and CL spells and 45 for the Gfay one.

Also the recast is really short, so it's very useful for traveling back and forth easily.

Message Edited by Azmoran on 11-04-2006 06:52 AM

We get a group teleport, and also a translocate (that required the target to be grouped, last time I tested it, and does pop up a confirmation box).

Here's the group teleport spell graphic -- very pretty!!

The druid portals work slightly different, they summon a little icon into the air which anybody passing by can click, like a temporary little zone.

Yeah ports are awesome, Just done em on beta with help of other wizard who already had this ports. Imagine - got port to Greater Faydark from trainer in mage tower, grped with other wizzy, he ported us to Antnica spire, got scroll there, he ported to CL spire, got scroll there, then he ported us to Antonica + evac, and i'am near South Qeynos, minute after finished this 2 little quests and got mine ports Took us some minutes to do the whole thing Swesome, nuff to say...

PS I honestly hope we will get more portals.

I can't belive your happy we have ports. Even though the # and locations are lame, now they have an excuse for why we are not tier 1 dps. We now have utility. Ask SOE for a biger boom, some agro control and instead we get stupid pet tricks.

Heyyy ports are GREAT!! I use them all the time in beta. Whenever your group wants to go to GF, you no longer have to meet in QH and buy a ticket. Just buy yourself some of the little dealies..... yeah i forgot what they're called, stack up on those and port your entire group at your leisure to common locations. I think it's great. Kinda wish we had more.. like take the LS spire out of the lava and rebuild the Zek one, or have the gnomes build a gigantic machine to suck the back ocean dry in Everfrost by the Permafrost entrance so we can use that spire, too but hey I like it a lot. It's going to save us a lot of time for the deity quests trust me. I'm just jealous of druids getting more than wizards :smileymad:

To those complaining about druid ports over wizzie ports.Yes, druids get more locations, but in order for people to use them 'EVERYONE' in the group has to go to the destination ahead of time and harvest. If they havent been there before and harvested the item, they cannot be ported. Considering how few realize this, how small a % of the player base acually reads the boards (let alone the druid boards), This can become a major headache, especially when dealing with pickup groups. As another posted stated, it was a lot easier for my wiz to get all the wiz spires done, and now Im ready to start porting friends around. My fury still cannot, since none of my friends have their updates. There are pros and cons to both.

I think that the Wizard/Warlock port options should include any place there is a spire. It would be good to split the utility a bit, Druids can go to certain places that the others cannot and vice versa. I would like to see portals to Nek, TS, EL and Feerott for those spires and it would be nice if those outlying areas with Druid rings were active too. Of course these extra options would not be 25 level quests, they would have to be level appropriate, but they would give us something to look forward to. Getting a new ability is sometimes more fun that a new combat art or spell to cast.
