<DIV>Can these be combined?  Can you hit catalyst and hit the freehand sorcery for a +30% critical hit? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>EDIT:<BR><BR>It seems like it is from everything I have read, but is it best to use a macro to swap out the staff to use both?  What would that look like?  Thanks! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV><p>Message Edited by Nitanyspirit on <span class=date_text>11-02-2006</span> <span class=time_text>02:07 PM</span>

That is what I hope so, at least I am planning my AAs that way.Catalyst is just a guaranteed crit for one minute...it doesnt increase the damage.  Freehand is an increase in damage, whether you crit or not.  So I would guess yes, they can and so stack. There are some pretty nice off-hand items that add procs and stuff...I know there is a delay in equipping/unequipping the off hand but seeing as it takes a while for the refresh on freehand and catalyst, I think that a macro should work.  If someone could post that macro please?

Something to the effect of...:;un secondary; usea catalyst;:;usea freehand sorcery; usea icenova;you have to re-equip your secondary slot yourself, there is no macro for that as far as I know.<div></div>

Aye, no re-equipp macro.  Just do what all the cool-kids are doing and leave that slot empty.<div></div>

This is very much a long way away, but I will be using a free offhand anyhow.

A definite yes on stacking.  Once you get brainstorm on your wisdom AA, Freehand is the only way to go.  I only switch in my 2 hander at the beginning of the fight for the xtra100 pwr and if we are in a long fight and im going oop will switch it back in for the intel boost as I switch in all my crappy ft gear.  I do all of this with a hot bar and simply clik on the staff, ring, bracelet. etc that  needs to be equipped. Freehand does stack with catalyst. However, Catalyst only crits your next spell. Where it says that the duration is 1 minute it just means you have 1 minute to cast your spell + Catalyst or it expires.I went STR + WIS for a little while but gave it up because it got me WAY too much aggro (even for a warlock /gasp). I do more dps with STR + AGI.Daenarys70 WarlockMob SquadKithicor<div></div>

I Fusioned 3 players (read possible bots since so easy to hit them since not geared like the rest of "us") today with Catalyst.I have Brainstorm 8, Freehand 8 too.I one shot the caster and possibly the healer for 4/6k and hit the tank for 5k so my group mates could finish him off.

<div></div>and you can put some in a macro, but not in any order !/ : ; usea freehand sorcery ; toggleautoattack ; usea catalyst ; usea fusionhttp://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=23&message.id=25581&query.id=79902#M25581<div></div><p>Message Edited by ailees on <span class=date_text>11-03-2006</span> <span class=time_text>04:02 AM</span>

Until we get no fizzles put in, I am content to hit each seperately. I hate fizzling any of the AP abilities!

<div></div>>BRIGH Until we get no fizzles put in, I am content to hit each separately. I hate fizzling any of the AP abilities!Well, I've been using this macro for months. Freehand never fizzles. Catalyst can, but may be once in a raid. Twice if you are not lucky. Then I "esc" the IN/Fusion spell and recast, no problem ! The less hot keys I have, the faster I cast, the higher DPS I have.Anyway, even with no fizzle, you'll be in trouble (rarely that's my point) with that macro, because from time to time queue is not well formed, and the last spell starts without catalist being cast, then you have to escape main spell (or move) and recast macro.P.S. : btw, my macro also have a /g message 'Fusion inc, prepare Rez'   and healers like it, because they know when to cast a ward or any protective spell on me ! saved my butt a lot. Not always, of course<div></div><p>Message Edited by ailees on <span class=date_text>11-04-2006</span> <span class=time_text>02:55 AM</span>
