IMO it's hard to say till we see it in action. Though I'm a little concerned because so far, it seems like all it's going to do is make melee classes even better than they are now.<div></div>

<div></div>I think the answer to your questions is, currently, "Only the devs know for sure." We can try to guess at what it will mean but I think the only definitive statement (actually a very positive one in my view) is Dymus stating that stat cap chasing will be a <a href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=testdev&message.id=11606#M11606" target="_blank">thing of the past</a> Beyond that, I think we'll know when NDA on beta is over and we get the players' direct experience.<div></div>

<DIV>if i had to guess, i would say we may be able to do a little more dps, and squish in like 2-3 hits instead of 0-1 hits lol</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

The changes will make us more powerful, to a certain extent. We should be able to take a few hits before dying now, and our damage/power *should* go up if you're currently like I am, and sitting 200+ above the int cap on raids, with the potential to go even higher with potions and such. However, one thing I will have to disagree with you about is us not being a T1 DPS currently. We are. With that said, however, keep in mind that Wizards' DPS is heavily reliant on group make-up. I'd be willing to say that a Troubador is the minimum requirement for achieving T1 DPS. I have no doubt in my mind that Wizards have the highest "potential" DPS in the game. Take today's HoS raid for example. I normally ONLY have a Troub deaggro + procs on raids. That's it. Well, this raid I got Harmonous Link, and my DPS skyrocketted. Imagine what would happen if I was able to get more buffs, like Synergism, Amends etc. I'd be willing to bet that if I had those buffs, my ~1650 zone-wide DPS would easily turn into, at the very minimum, 1800+, though I am confident that I'd be able to do even better than that. Notice how reliant on buffs we are compared to other classes.

I like the intelligence cap change, and can't wait for it.No idea about the skills, we'll see.now the mitigation part, I don't care. I'm raiding 80% my time, if I get aggro, I die, who cares if one or two shots ? I just hope it won't take too long, or the raid would be in danger <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

I get aggro a lot, and our healer would be able to keep me up a lot more (until the tank gets aggro back) if I died in 2-3 hits instead of 1.

true, but in the other hand, if you bring an AE mob to the casters group and he stays there long enough to cast one AE, you are going to be loved by your friends....(ex friends ?).Well, we will see, anyway I don't mind surviving more, even if I don't really care.<div></div>

Yeah, I see what you're getting at, and I agree. Though for me -- that rarely happens. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> If I get aggro on a mob who AE's, like I have a couple times on Chel'Drak in the past, I simply move him within a millisecond of me getting aggro, to the tank. There has been the odd time where the mob has ran for me and AE'd right then and there, but that's definitely very rare in my history at least.

<DIV>I guess my point was, I feel that the pros outweigh the cons in this type of situation, at least for me. When I raid, I go all out. I get aggro all the time. I believe that I have an extremely kick [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] healer in my group (Slixia, a Fury), who tries absolutely everything he can do to keep me alive. The problem is, he can't keep me alive through one-shots. However, if it took 2-3 hits for me to die, that just increased my chances of living exponentially, because my healer can heal me up in an insanely short amount of time. This, in turn, should increase my DPS overall for every zone we do.</DIV>

Sounds like with the new cap I will only be doing half the damage I am now.... since they are not changing it from a percent based system. so currently to get 100% of my bonus I need 7 X level + 20 which at 70 = 510 I currently have 510 and therefore I am getting 100% of the bonus when this change comes into play I will need 1070 to reach 100% of my bonus so I will only get 50% of the bonus after the change where before the change I have 100% <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<P>thats what I thought too, but if it is going to work out like dps/haste mods</P> <P>they are getting a 25% increase at the 200% cap (that makes my brain hurt)</P> <P>so in reality there should be a point where we regain the damage bonus that we have now, and anything after that is a *boost*</P>

true IT, this has alreay been explained, and there was a nice graph to show that, at 510 you'll be under your DPS, but at N (700 ? 800 ? we don't know) you'll be at same, and then you'll be more.<div></div>
