<DIV>I recently got an item (a mystical orb collection reward) and a grizzlewhatever walking stick that both proc (10 percent) chance an extra heat damage on a hostile spell. A few questions:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. I assume these procs are independant so I could cast 1 hostile spell and get both procs to fire?</DIV> <DIV>2. Is the 10 percent a sliding percent based on the speed of the spell I am casting or does any spell, irregardless of cast time give me a 10 percent chance?</DIV> <DIV>3. Does the damage the proc causes go up like my other spells with better int and AA abilities? Does it count as if I cast the spell? (+ damage AA and +crit chance AA in particular)</DIV> <DIV>4. Does the proc fire BEFORE or AFTER my spell lands? For example, if a root spell causes the proc, did the proc just have a chance to break the root?</DIV> <DIV>5. If a spell is resisted, does the proc still have a chance of firing? or only on a succesful hit with a spell?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Besides the orb reward (earring I think) and the walking stick, anyone suggest any other proc items? And are there people out there who've specced around procing items that have any suggestions on making this type of build more succesful? I thought the strength AA line would be particularly good if the procs can crit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

1) Yes2) Depends on casting time on the spell. All procs/crits are normallized to a 3.0 second duration spell. Such as if you were casting Cease (0.5 second cast), the chance it would proc a 10% item is really: 0.5/30 * 10% = 1.6%. If you were casting Ice Nova: 4.0/3.0 * 10%: 13.3%3) Yes, procs can crit just like a spell.4) Before the spell for most procs, not sure if *all* go off before a spell.5) Yes. Your spell can get resisted and the proc still go off. Mezzers can break their own mez this way, if the proc goes off on a mezzed mob, mez then breaks, and the new mez is resisted. Same with roots/etc (except that roots don't break with any one point of damage like mez).I have six items that proc damage, and they add up to 5-6% of my total damage during raids: Godking wand, mystical orb earring, ring of supremacy, bracelet of thule, bone clasped girdle, death reveler orb.

I remember there being a more recent post, but at work now so I can't spend too long digging it up, but here is what a quick search found:http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=items&message.id=30217&query.id=95274#M30217Lockeye states melee procs are based off a 3.0 second weapon delay.http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=combat&message.id=101455&query.id=0#M101455There he says casting time is equivalent to weapon delays for spells basically. It might have been a different dev that posted it, don't recall exactly.

Also something to keep in mind:When you use a Catalyst-ed spell, any and all procs that trigger off of that spell will also auto-crit.Daenarys70 WarlockMob SquadKithicor<div></div>

But it is a secondary/ranged item with 20int, 80 power (no other stats) with a 5% proc to do 485 damage and restore 300ish power to caster.
