I met a problem that I never met before : too much possible DPS.when you want to fight the crab named in fallen dinasty, you must not go over 600 DPS, or adds will spawn.an not one cast better then 6K.OK, then you don't cast IN, nor fusion, don't use any catalyst.I just made one try, and was casting so low (and was not the only one I bet) then we went OOP and wiped stupidly. And feeding MT lowers more my DPS.I wonder how you can know that you are at, let's say 500 DPS... does ACT allow that ? funny problem, never had it before.

Use the minparse feature and set it to update at short intervals and have it 'always on top'. It will lag like a mofo if your computer is not half decent but it gives you an idea of your current DPS.

Sir Viko Din

Wizard of Evolution, Splitpaw

What i'am usually doing there is: casting IN, surging tempest, our debuff, and sometimes bol nad iceshield. All other time i'am feedint myself and someone else (mt or healer) with pwr. Also using vitalic cropping there. Burning only when adds spawn with fusion and other big stuff. At the end of the fight i have 50-70% of pwr usually. Also 1 manaregen in both grps like bards or chanters.

the problem is not aggro, but I've been ask no Fusion, not even IN, and no more than 599 DPS...if the raid leader is asking for that, I will certainly not being 1K DPS, just to see what occurs !

Yes, Some mobs they have designed to wipe (or add difficulty for ) a raid if you pull agro. Sorcerers are notorious for pulling agro .Some other high end guild raiders say that mobs like the crab teach one to suck at one's class. Hehe, even though funny, it isn't the whole truth. The reality is, it is a mob made for 12 people that requires that some basic cooporation is executed in order that you don't wipe. It doesn't require the best that the best can do, and I don't think it was meant to. It was meant as a raid most guilds can do if they put some thought into it and learn to measure their output by their ability to hold agro and do a few other non-zerging skills (not going to spell it all out for the guilds who want to learn on their own).Your raid leader is right, fusion, etc. really isn't needed for crab. Having certain classes and/or learning to balance output with agro is.In the end, the real goal should be to kill the mob, not kill the raid while making the top of the parse. As a sorcerer, it is sometime hard to resist the temptations.Fewson - Level 70 WizzyDark HorizonThe Bazaar
Message Edited by Fewson on 09-28-2006 09:29 AM

>it's hard to resist the temptationoh yes ! my fingers were flying 2 centimeters from some keys.. so many i was ordered NOT to use. No casting more than 6000 damages is not easy for a wizard with freehand and catalyst. Not at all my cup of tea ! just like asking an ogre to dance like a mouse.

It is not at all a theory, but a fact in real life that has been proven ; all who say it has not are just liers and will be damned for eternity.Other name : Murphy's law, or law of the maximum bugging.terms : anytime your slice of bread and butter falls on the ground, the buttered face will allways been the one that hit the ground.technical terms : all events that can fu.. up willOf course, if you are really a scientist, you know it is only the application of the 2d law of thermodynamics.
