My familiar attacked, and did a little bit of damage.

<DIV>Yesterday I was in the bonemire fighting one of those trees near the dreadnever crash site. I rooted one, and when I did my familiar (runes tomb of knowledge) immediately flew up to it and whacked it for 489 damage. The tree in return pulverized in in 1 or 2 hits, but I was amazed because I've never seen that behavior in my familiar before. Has anyone else had their familiar just randomly whack somthing?</DIV>

Yep I have noticed it from time to time, but I thought it was fixed a long time ago. It used to be that every now and then when our group was fighting, my paladin's squire would start attacking the mob. It was quite a rare thing to see and I never figured out how the behavior was triggered.

<DIV>Hehe its because the mob attacks the squire / familiar. Squires will fight a mob if the mob hits it and vice versa with the familiar. I suspect the familiar got to close to the tree while it was rooted, the tree whacked it, and the book attacked back. The gnomes near the entrance of Sol Eye always attack my gargoyal pet.  Once they've killed my pet, they go for me... and I have good faction with them.  /shrug<div></div>

My understanding is that a pbae that hits the familiar will get aggro from it.  In RoV I had my book fighting another book at the Book of Life spawn area.<div></div>
