<DIV>It has its place.  It's not our highest dps damage, nor is it our lowest.  I cast it when higher dps spells are grayed out due to their recast delays.</DIV>

i keep all my dots up on the larger nameds, but not usually on normal heroics (mobs dont last that long) and never soloing. in raids i use everything

I only use in grps when its a tank class that can't keep agro when i go full force. I use the Fiery and Sunstrike for grps like that only.

I don't use it.I have too much better spells !only time I would is if I'm far from a mob (deadly aes) who also resists cold or fire, then I'm obliged to fire all my DDs.<div></div>

<DIV>It procs with  (Lvl 60 Inferno Surge) so I find it very useful especially on long encounters, cast inferno surge then your immolation line and then convulsions, a lot of people write it off as a useless spell. </DIV>

<DIV>like the others said it is not the highest dps per casting time but nor is it the lowest. it is low dps per casting time tho. It is in a diffrent tier if u are 70. use it over Sunstrike. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>and use it with procs for sur... or when ur saving mana. as it gives good dps for power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Personally, to me it does its job, it seems to fill the 2 second gap or so i'll get about ever 25% into a raid mob, and hey, why not use that to be throwing out some more damage? It does its job perfectly IMO

<DIV>I'am always using this spell on raids. In groups... well, I dont remember when I was in grp last time <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Anyway i think this spell is good for every 50+ seconds fight.</DIV>

<DIV>in raids, fiery convulsions is one of those spells with a mega fast recast and cast time and an equal chance to proc your items as any other spell. when your character has a bunch of proc items, use this spells when all your others are down for a chance at extra damage. it isnt much in any other regard, but it is still worth using.</DIV>

The inital cast of this spell is the only time it will have a chance to proc an item as well, unlike Surging Tempest, which, due to the way that spell works, can cause a proc off any tick.</P> <P>Its not a totally useless spell, but I liked it much more back when it had its stun component.</P> <P> </P>

Love the spell.  Low damage, but FAST recast ---and--- it allows me to get off spellprocs.

<P>Its good for filling in gaps on long nameds especially when mana looking a bit ropey.</P> <P>Also, I currently use this and other quick cast spells when PoM is up on a single target (if a lot of HP). I haven't done any parsing to compare whether or not DPS is greater from casting lots of quick spells to proc PoM (and frigid gift as I time that to go off at the same time) or just sticking to my big nukes. Has anyone done any research on this?</P> <P>Sir Viko Din</P> <P>Wizard of Evolution, Splitpaw</P>

I wasn't paying attention to my dps charts... Fiery Convulsions has a better damage-to-casttime ratio than Sunstrike.<div></div>
