Stam is a primarily defensive line and won't help you kill any faster.

It all depends on what you plan to solo, and what gear you have.I'ld definately go with the AGI line for reduced cast/recast times. The basis of a soloing wizard is their roots, and buying more time to reapply your group root is probably a life saver.Where to dump the rest of your points is really up to you (in either STR or WIS).Personally, I'ld take STR for the crits; over freehand and brainstorm in the WIS line; plus you wont have to give up your secondary slot (resists are as much of a soloer's friend as roots are).As long as you're gear is procing off dmg, power, heals and wards (for those dammed casting mobs), the STR line would probably do you better over the long run.If not, play around with a few combinations of AA lines until you find the one that suits you best.vortfu

I'll be fighting non-heroics, unless grouped which will be mostly a rarity.my gear is pretty good, mostly adept 1, 3 and some masters... and all others has fairly good stats and a few items with procs, note I'm approaching level 50 if that helpsas vortu mentioned...I'd like to have a setup that uses my primary and secondary slots the best way possible. so either a dagger and no secondary, or a 2 hand staff..will affect my lines.

Message Edited by sindarin on 08-31-2006 05:33 PM

I'd not worry about the Sta line. In many cases you will WANT to get hit to utilize your ice shield if you are fighting non-heroics. For heroics, you will never want the mob it hit you no matter how many points you put into defense.I would recommend Wis/Agi... Wis gives you a very good boost in dps and the ward is also extremely nice. Agi for the decreased casting timers to help kill those buggers quick and get spells off while under attack.
Message Edited by Tholann on 09-01-2006 07:51 AM
IMO all wizs should pick wisdom and maximize brainstorm. Its like getting a free upgrade of all your spells, ie makes all your master spells like master 2 spells. My personal preference is Wis / Str . Catalyst freehand (24 pct) adept 3 nova allows my wiz to one shot many mobs with a 10,425 minimum damage hit..By precasting catalyst and waiting for the timer to tick down I can have back to back nova / fusion criticalsThe other fav among wiz is agi for the faster casts.IMO Int and Sta just dont offer enough to forgo the advantages of Str or AgiDuffus lvl 70 wizDuufuss lvl 70 PallyEverfrost

Well for solo work against non-heroic then you will be equally successful with either AGI or the STR line with both of their end arts selected. Against multiple down arrow and AGI line you can re-cast the group root before it expires, with the STR line you can crit your AOE and burn the whole lot of them down very fast. Both of these lines are bolstered well with the wisdom line, its hard to argue witch of the 2 arts is the best and giving up one slot for an across the board 8% DPS boost from WIS as the second line is a very easy decision. Surprisingly the little regenerating ward from WIS is very handy as well. I have run down both and each are viable. I do miss the STR line to be honest as it really wows people when your big spells crit, especially now that I have fusion and Ice Nova at m1. If you like to impress people with your high hits and correlary high death rates in groups get the STR line, garaunteed agro. If you plan on doing heroics invest in a t7 hex doll... makes burning down heroics childs play.

-Acelia 70th Wizard of Nektulos

I went str 4440,planing on maxing out it once I'm lv 50 to 4480 and agi 4488. I like the str line cause there other ways to boost you crit chance. MoA gives 2% and your familar with 2 handed staff gives another 2.5%, for a total of 4,5% outside your AA line. I'm already criting like crazy and I havn't maxed out my crit yet. No need for freehand or catalyst you'll crit just about every other hit. Also for soloing I use the staff of spectral fury, has a 7% proc to heal you for 450 and nice resists, not the best stats though. The 15% ward proc X'haviz's Gon of Glory is nice too. I've been trying to acquire more of these heal/ward proc items.
