View Full Version : Spellcasting Abilities Question
<DIV>Greetings! I am a level 70 raiding troubador and love all my caster friends. There is a long-standing discussion regarding one of our buffs, Dove Song. With my AA ability boost, my Dove Song raises the group's subjugation, disruption, ordination, etc by 44 and focus by 88. Many troubs believe the buff to be pretty useless, but I am of the opinion that it cuts down significantly on fizzles and resists when fighting yellow and orange con mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What is the opinion of wizards regarding your spellcasting abilities? For those that raid with a troub that uses this buff, do you notice a difference when it is up? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

I notice that pooled debuffs make a far bigger difference than disruption/subjugation for landing hits. I may need more ordination/ministration on gear though, I'm absolutely fed up with Iceshield, Cardinal Intromission, Cure Arcane, Frigid Gift, blah blah blah et cetera et cetera fizzling and fizzling and fizzling. <div></div>

in my opinion this buff is useless at all. I havent seen any difference when it was up or it wasn't.
It is useless, do not waste your concentration slot casting it, ever. You'd be better off with your self-buff than dove song.
<DIV>useless buff</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>hell as a warlock i shouldnt even have my + to skill casting up and at times if i'm in a group with more than 2 melee classes i end up taking that spell off and putting another proc on the 3rd melee</DIV>

<DIV>Yes this buff is useless please chain cast jesters and send me a tell .....</DIV>
<DIV>Thanks for the replies. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know the buff is not "useless" since I have observed the fizzle rate is reduced, and I have read that resists are less likely when fighting orange-con mob's. But it seems like the general consensus around here is that increasing disruption, ministration, ordination, focus, etc does very little or nothing to one's DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Looks like I'll be swapping in another buff in the majority of situations.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edit: I just noticed that 3 of the 4 people who called the buff useless are in the same guild. I find that interesting. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Mykin on <span class=date_text>07-27-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:06 AM</span>

And just another note, direct damage spells never fizzle anyways.
