Lvl 58 wizard here. Just got forge of ro in ad3 and ive used it some encounters and i was wondering how u guys use it. Do i hv to summon the flames and stay put for the dot to be active? If im able to run to the tank cast the spell and then pull back to nuke with the debuff on the mobs this spell is very useful but if not i dont se myself using it alot. Just got arctic acicles in m1 and i simply love it in grps But i find the dot on the spell extremely annoying and if the dot wasnt there it would help me alot in pvp duels and when soloing nameds/heroics (the dot obviously breaks the root) for example when i see someone asking for a duel and i inspect em and i see their cold/heat resist r like 1,5 k and i think with the debuff they will hv like 600 resist and i could serously own them. arctic icicles works well against other mages/chanters but against melee classes its suicide i think. Havent been reading in this forum alot but i guess other wizzyz would love to hv the dot on the debuff removed in pvp i always gt debuffed and nameds always seem to place a dot/debuff on me so its not fair that i hv limited use of my own debuff spell Hoping for some good feedback peps

heres a tip, it will help you with all your questions. PLAY THE GAME try and figure some of these things out for your self... unless your one of those people who just likes to have everything handed to them.

maybe im not a newbie at 57 but its my 1st toon and therefore i like to ask questions to gt a better understanding of my character. I see that the flames from forge of ro is still there after ive casted the spell but i couldnt see if it was still active when i ran back.. i dont like to gt evrything handed to me, i only ask questions i cant gt answered by joining a pickup grp in ss for a few hours btw if i was 70 and had a good understanding of my toon i would answer the actual question from a unexperienced player instead of telling me to "play the game"

To answer question - you don't have to stand where you cast it. It will stay where you cast for its duration or until it gets killed.
