Dont really get the point. If you like comic style wow is the way to go. Personally, the dress looks to me like a wannabe dracula outfit, but taste is a thing you cant argue about anyways.

Ok, that was too cool. I group with the same folk regularly and until recently the fact that my wizzie was running around in a dress was their biggest laugh. I'm glad I'm not the only guy out there that hates wearing dresses!!

P.S. to the other poster, I don't think the OP was trying to promote WoW or to say their graphics were great, I think he/she was sharing a very cool video that was meant to pop a smile on your face. Maybe take off the defencive stance and watch it again. Someone made the song up, created the clips, coriogrphed and posted it for our enjoyment. Enjoy it!

Vyctor

Unfortunately he died because on the wa down from the top of the tower he tripped over his robe and fell down the stairs. Lol... guess they don't have evac =/But anyways... how bout when they give us leather/chain armor, they give us the ability to use greatswords like Gandalf and put that +85str to use! Rawr! But really, if you like how WoW looks so much, you're playing the wrong game.

immolatus, you sir need to play SWG. your clothes fetish demands it! :p

and because this was totally the point of the thread (sarcasim), wiztards totally need to be able to wear leather dag-nab-it.

but back to the subject at hand... my gf constantly comments on how dashing i look in my flowing Rainment of the Skywatcher and Grand Dracomancer's Hat.
Uhm... Isn't robes sort of Wizard style? All wizards I've seen pictures of in comics/movies etc have been wearing robes. I have no problem with wearing robes.. but if they were to be made more stylish I would have no objection. They are ok now, but much look alike. Perhaps if they didn't lie to us when the game was being made to make us wanna play it.. then once they real us in, go lazy on us and not put things like this in the game =/ [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn], that is a good looking robe. I'd have to say its enough to rival a robe from WoW...

I would life tailors to be able to make clothes. Maybe starting with a game robe, and applying nex parterns to turn them into somethg nice and original.Just like weaponsmith should be able to modify weapons aspectsIn EQ1 we could dye, but changing shape, making an artistic work would be so nice.

I agree...ever since my first D&D mage I've always wanted pants...not armor...just pants. Of corse in D&D I could have them made, but not in a computer game (Be it single player or MMO).

Give me pants or give me death!!!!!!!!!!!!

And granted...there are pants I could wear in EQ2, but only the robes give any INT bonuses. I would just like another option that would still maintain the viability of my character. And if I wear pants...then I need to buy a shirt too, but a shirt and pants combo should still equal any bonuses that I could get from a robe.

This really is simply a cosmetic issue...it is like saying all mages with brown hair will get a bonus to INT...sure, I could make a blood haired one, but I'd be at a dis-advantage.

Message Edited by Gustuv Wynd on 07-06-2006 06:32 PM

I've always thought that ROBES (not dresses *ahem*) look pretty kick-[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] on mage type characters. I dunno it just seems like a cool image for a Wizard channeling the arcane with his/her robe flowing in the wind created by the pure energy he's commanding and then he hurls the fireball at the enemy and the cloth robe settles.

On the other hand, I think that you should DEFINATELY be able to wear a shirt and pants.

I like the idea of wizards in robes. The problem is that EQ2 robes just aren't quite right. If you can find any fantasy art of a robed mage and compare it to EQ2 mages you may see what I mean

The thing that would improve the look of magi most in EQ2 would be the simple addition of large visible shoulder pieces that show over/with the robe. In the same way that vanguard style plate looks much better than round shouldered chainmail, a mage with impressive shoulder adornment would improve the look greatly. The ones in the video suit WoW's cartoony style but they show how much they add to the overall look.
