I am a level 61 wizard and just came back to EQ2 with latest pack to see AP,  I realized they made a lot of changes with latest patch specificallly roots and how aggro works.Well I cannot figure out how to pull without getting multiple mobs and then getting beat down because my root wont last anywhere long enough to fight more then one mob at once.I admit my gear is so-so since i never raid, I have mostly adept 3, a few master not many.  I don't think I died this much in a long time and getting frustrated.  Is it turning into a group only game?Any advice what am I doing wrong?  Or should I just give up soloing?<div></div>

dunno how is it hard. I mean anyone can solo in this game, but the feat of actually trying to solo a mob that's intended for a group is another story. Some wizards are able to do it, some cannot.  <img src="/smilies/1cfd6e2a9a2c0cf8e74b49b35e2e46c7.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

But they're packed together, so it's nigh impossible to pull one without getting three others. People in the chats told me to body pull, but this isn't really all that smart for someone with 2hp and negative mit <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />While social aggro is a good idea and all that, it wasn't implemented from the start, so a heck lot of zones just isn't designed for it.</div>

Right now it is extrememly difficult to solo for any class with the social agro recently put in game. Almost all Solo mobs are grped heavaly with other mobs where if u pull one the mobs around agro. For a wizzie u pull 2 solo mobs and your on the ball u may live....pull more then 2 your taking a dirt nap. Mobs hit to hard for you to effectivly root 3 mobs before your dead. So until they decide to fix some area's where it becomes actually possible to solo, Stick to the area where they roam only. Very time comsuming but your only chance atm .

Well at least I know it not just me.  I did mean solo mobs, not even talking heroic mobs.BTW I was fighting in tenebrous in latest expansion just trying to do solo quests from that village on bottomw of waterfall.  The ones where you go kill 12 or so scaleborn and restock chests. This sure getting frustrating, I just don't play long enough to be in groups for long period of time.  <div></div>

What I do as a wizard, when I am trying to pull a named or a quest mob out of a large pack of social mobs, is cast root and run just far enough away to lose the aggro of the adds.  Then once they reset you wait for the root to wear off and the mob will come after you since the aggro range is much larger for a mob you have engaged in combat.
