<DIV>Did some testing today with ice flame on various mobs with adept 3 rending icicles (debuffs heat/cold by 966 level 69) adept 3 arctic icicles (debuffs heat/cold by 770 level 55) I used Ice flame since it is the only spell we have that has no damage range and thus we can measure the dmg increase from the debuff and compare it against the debuff amount. The results were....well interesting to say the least.</DIV> <DIV>---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</DIV> <DIV>no matter the mob EVERY singe one hit for 470/470 (unless mob was fire immune) and some thing to note i have rank 7 on brain storm aa [adds 7% to spell dmg] which is why its not 439 / 439. I am also at the int cap at lvl 70 at 510 + int.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>tested on a torpid blood bloom in Tenerberous tangle.</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles if ice flame after <STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000>arctic icicles</FONT></STRONG> 470 / 470 <STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000>(no bonus dmg)</FONT></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after rending icicles 496 / 496 = 5.5% bonus in dmg</DIV> <DIV>-</DIV> <DIV>decided to test on another mob with arctic icicles (since debuff wasn't de-buffing) yellow jackets, tangle flys, shadown serpets all 470/470.</DIV> <DIV>-</DIV> <DIV>decided to test on non kos mobs.</DIV> <DIV>tested on some random undead mobs in antonica by the portal lvl 18ish</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after arctic icicles 483 (mob dead before flame part hit) 2.76% bonus in dmg</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after rending icicles 509 (mob dead before flame part hit) 8.29% bonus in dmg</DIV> <DIV>-</DIV> <DIV>lvl 20 solo hawk in ts</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after arctic icicles 478 / 478 1.7% bonus in dmg</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after rending icicles 506 / 506 7.1% bonus in dmg</DIV> <DIV>-</DIV> <DIV>lvl 32 noxious klackerok (beetle in Enchanted lands)</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after <STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000>arctic icicles</FONT></STRONG> 470 / 470 <STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000>(no bonus)</FONT></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after rending icicles 496 / 496 (5.5% bonus)</DIV> <DIV>-</DIV> <DIV>lvl 45 ice wolf (in EF)</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after arctic icicles 478/474 1.5% bonus in dmg</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after rending icicles 506 / 506 7.1% bonus in dmg</DIV> <DIV>-</DIV> <DIV>lvl 51 gazel in pof</DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after <STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000>arctic icicles</FONT></STRONG> 470/470 <STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000>(no bonus dmg)</FONT></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>5 cycles of ice flame after rending icicles 496 / 496 5.5% bonus in dmg</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Conclusions:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Rending icicles worked on every mob I tried it on, and it varied from 5.5% to 8.29% bonus damage</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is some kind of problem with arctic icicles. Its not proportionate at all compared to rending icicles (196 extra in de-buff) as it does 4-5 times less bonus dmg than rending icicles. It also is not debuffing various different mobs. It seemed to be random which mobs it worked on and it also spreads across all tiers. Talk about being jypped on using a de-buff that doesn't actually debuff!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hopefully a dev looks into this and can tell us if its the *mobs* that are the problem and not the spell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>at any rate, my goal was to provide a mathematical average on the increase in dmg per spell when using the debuff. This way a wizard can weigh the choices on nukes / debuffs against the type of fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>short fight that lasts less than 5 seconds your probably better off NOT casting the debuff and wasting 1.5 seconds casting it and instead casting another nuke (speaking from a dps stand point)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>anything longer than that and the benefit gained is well worth the casts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You can also use the figures for a rough estimation in your dps output With using a debuff. (data we just have never had before)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Enjoy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Illu</DIV>
