Another newbie here for the PvP servers... but I'm thinking of moving over to a RP server and starting a wizard.. trying to get a good sense of a tradeskill for him that would 1) benefit some need and 2) not get rich but at least help make enough coin to stay outfitted half way decent..

obvious choices..

sage.. except I don't like that the ONLY thing they make are spells..

jeweler.. at least could make a few useful items and ones that might sell ok

tailor.. could stay stylish (though it seems enough clothes with quests and such) and sell backpacks I suppose

prov.. just to heck with it.. keep my mana going and hopefully make enough coin to buy the rest

so what trade are you and how has it worked out for your wizard?

as you can see in my signature i have made 2 tradeskillers - i think these 2 are quite useful... jeweler and tailor are also nice, but i liked doing my food/drink and especially adept3 myself more than the jewelery/tailor stuff btw. leveling a sage is quite easy as you get many recipies per level and so have many 1st creation exp bonus....

But leveling a sage is also very expensive as you will vender trash 80% of the spells you make on the way.

If I had it to do over again (and I mean go back in time... not spend the next year grinding an alt), I would go provisioner all the way!!

Alchemist anyone?

I like my alchemist. Do I make tons of money with it....no, but then again I'm not trying right now.

I can make fighter apps, which is good. In addition to potions and poisons. Being a wizard, I considered myself spoiled. I always have my +int potion, my +POW potions on at all times. That's an additional +47 int and +263 POW that others don't have. Then, throw in the POW regen potions in an emergency.....and that +HP heal when needed.....

There's resist potions I can make....

As you can see, being a caster...I'm happy to have gone the alchemist route. And from an income perspective, if you work the market and know your product...you can make money.

just me 2c....

I love making T7 food but HATED all other tiers. Good thing they will be changing them. I have never made food to sell.

Since my first character was already a cook I made my wizard a carpenter. Why? Big boxes and big status free houses :smileyvery-happy:

Message Edited by Creyzee on 04-13-2006 03:45 PM

I'm a provisioner as well, though with T7 I hate that they got rid of the +power food (and +hp too). Sure there are the +int ones, but when capped they're useless. I'm still making macadamia nut fudge (t6) for the +115 or so max power it gives, though I haven't really gotten into T7 yet (the GF is a 70 prov too).
