View Full Version : Sorceror AA Inconsistency - Undocumented requirement or bug?

<div></div>Looking over the various AA lines, the one inconsistency that keeps annoying me is the requirement for weapon/slot usage and I am wondering whether it is a bug, poorly thought out requirement (therefore driving this inconsistency) or some deeper underlying requirement not documented on the AA descriptions.For each line, there are 5 ranks (after Familiar), being:Rank 1 - + stat bonusesRank 2 - Some weapon based attack that HAS a mandatory weapon or slot requirementRank 3 - AA abilityRank 4 - AA abilityRank 5 - Top of tree, special unalterable abilityNow in ALL the 5 stat lines, the first two ranks are consistent.Rank 1 has no requirement and is a stat buffRank 2 has a requirement for dagger, 1H weapon, Symbol or empty secondary slotFor all the AA lines EXCEPT Wisdom, Ranks 3 to 5 have no special weapon/slot requirementFor the WIS line, Rank 3 and Rank 4 require an empty secondary slot.This is just plain inconsistent and annoying.... so it led me to consider 3 alternatives:1) Poorly thought out design (okay - I admit it... I like consistency <span>:smileytongue:</span>).... will call this a "bug"2) A requirement for the other 4 AA lines for Rank 3 and 4 (same as Rank 2 in that line) that was not documented. Can anyone check whether this (horrifying) thought is correct?eg Do you get reduced casting timers with Spell Shaping (AGI line) when no dagger is equipped?eg Do you get increased mitigation with Battlemage Armor and increased focus & disruption with Battlemage's Fevor with NO Symbol equipped?3) An error in stated requirement for Ranks 3 and 4 for WIS lineie You don't really need an empty Secondary slot.... can anyone confirm/check? .... if this was true, would call this a "bug" too.So I am wondering whether someone can confirm the situation to see if there is inconsistency, bugs or undefined requirements please....Thanx<div></div>

<div>the decreased cast timer aa ability spell shaping i believe at rank1 reduces cast timers regardless of weapon equipped.</div>

yea I thought it was odd too. Consistency is your friend, however we know that within SoE consistency is unheard of. Just look at the differences between tiers 5 - 7 crafting hehe.<div></div>
