It's a DoT with a <EM>chance</EM> to stifle... that's it... a <EM>chance</EM>... It's not a stifle, it's a DoT...

Hard to say about now, but here is how it was BEFORE the revamp: There was a 5% chance to stifle the mob everytime it was hit by a melee weapon. Only way to really test would be to find a grey ^^^ with a lot of HP, cast the spell on it, then have your tank equip some low damage dual wields and just auto-attack, and see if the stifle ever goes off. <div></div>

It lasted 25 seconds, and I could get up to 7 times it going off in raids on mobs effected by it. In single groups, monks and rangers would make it go off like crazy. If you have adept 1 or less then it doesn't even mention a stifle effect on the spell description any more. <div></div>

This spell doesnt stifle anymore in after Lu13. They just removed the stifle effect from the description in Lu16 beta patch.

Conjuror's is a DD + DoT (400 dd + 100 a tick.) Necro's has longer duration (50% longer, 36sec.) Enchanter's adds a DD (about 400 dmg) after the DoT expires. Sorcerer's just ticks faster, but no extra damage. If we want a fast damage, why dont we just cast a sunstrike to do more damage instantly? Our DoTs really need to do at least double the damage or have an extra effect (like the stifle effect before DoF.)<BR>
Aye, this spell might as well have been removed tbh, it seems to serve no purpose currently. <div></div>
