What affect if any does upgrading my roots and stifles to adept 3?

Less resists... and in the case of roots, higher probability of them sticking longer...

Also it slows them for a higher percent on breaking.

Where are you getting your information about the less resists? Was there a statement by a dev that all spells of a higher quality get resisted less, drom personal experience or from some other post? Sorry to be a pain but we seem to pass unsubstantiated information around alot on these boards, and since I cant tell from the gui the resist rate of a spell....

The spell description itself says "Upgrades to this spell reduce the target's resistance to the full duration of the root effect."

Ring of Cold adept 3 has the same snare % on breaking as RoC adept 1. The description is misleading (it's left over from when roots used to break randomly during their duration), it should be updated to reflect the real differences when the spells are upgraded which I believe to be what was posted above, however there's nothing I've seen from the devs to confirm or deny it. I upgraded to adept 3 in the hope that it will be resisted less on application, and with a very slight hope that it might not break so often when I nuke the mobs...

I upgraded Truss from adept I to adept III today. I'm disappointed with the results. This is anecdotal but

I had fewer resists with adept I and the spell was less likely to break. I even suspect this is bugged. Adept III is

breaking more often than not on the first hit! So if upgrade is supposed to do something, I have yet to see it.

Message Edited by Grimdayl on 11-08-2005 08:55 PM

It increases the amount the target is slowed by upon breaking, giving you more time to re-apply

And one everyone else missed: It's good for the ego :smileyvery-happy:

lol seriously I do seem to have better success now that I upgraded my roots to adept III but as always the random number generator has a flat side so you get HORRID streaks.

For myself, my roots are the first thing I upgrade to Adept III (and until I hit 46+, the ONLY thing I will bother upgrading to Adept III). The extra snare alone makes it well worth it, even more so now that they have apparently nerfed stun duration.
