I play in a 3 man group, tank, healer and me da nuker. so I target the tank and he pulls and I start casting... some time during this we get an 'add' on me. so the tank changes target...and whala.... I change as well, since I'm targeting through him. How do I stop this from happening...but be able to assist him fairly easily? Thanks for the wisdom [edit: to fix a type I had]

Message Edited by JackBurtonBTLC on 09-16-2005 02:52 PM

you dont... if you assist off the tank what eer he has targeted is what you will if he changes you will change... if he moves target you will have to reajust and click or tab onto the mob... or wait for him to go back to the orginally target mob

Create a macro with "/assist
" on the first line and add it to a hotbar.
Message Edited by danielle1973 on 09-16-2005 03:13 PM

Simple solution - stop nuking, keep targetting the tank. A good tank should switch to the add, taunt it off you and then switch back to the first target if it has lower health. Watch for this happening. Give him 5-10 seconds or so to switch back. If he doesn't the add is now the main target and you need to nuke that instead.

If you continue to nuke the first mob while the tank isn't taunting it you may get aggro from that

If you nuke the add while the tank tries to taunt it off you it means he has to taunt for longer, giving healers time to build extra aggro from the first target or giving the add time to kill you, not to mention wasting his power

Message Edited by Jack Orb on 09-19-2005 05:39 AM
