Here they are: *** Combat Changes *** - Root and charm spells that can be periodically resisted now have more frequent chances to break. As if roots don't break enough, now they have MORE FREQUENT chances to break? *sigh* Mage changes: - Magi's Shielding now increases the caster's maximum health pool and adds bonuses to Defense and Focus. The regenerating ward effect has been removed. This was really nice, wish they weren't taking it away - New spells are no longer automatically granted from levels 51 to 60. Players will need to find ways of obtaining them. Not sure exactly how this is gonna work out, hopefully we won't have to quest for them, also hope they can be made Adept III On the bright side: - Experience gain has been increased at all levels of play. - A player character's base chance to avoid being interrupted while casting has improved. - Avoidance on cloth armor has been increased. A fix for something that never really should have happend: - Common solo and heroic NPCs are much less likely to use spells and combat arts that hit for extremely high instant damage. - NPCs that have two or more down arrows now have slightly reduced health and damage output. Overall mixed feelings about this patch. Some good, some not so good. I wish it was Tuesday already so I could see how it all works out.

- Root and charm spells that can be periodically resisted now have more frequent chances to break.

I am not sure those root spells apply to ours but they might. Our root spells are damage break spells and not resist check spells or so I believe which means that patch wont apply to ours.

- Magi's Shielding now increases the caster's maximum health pool and adds bonuses to Defense and Focus. The regenerating ward effect has been removed.

Magi Shielding...well they broke this in a patch last week and this is a better version even though its not as good as the original. So this is just saying they have heard our plea's and decided to give us a little something to make up for it. I would like the old 3 conc health defense focus ward sheilding we had in the beginning of beta but I doubt that will happen.

- New spells are no longer automatically granted from levels 51 to 60. Players will need to find ways of obtaining them.

I doubt anyone really uses app 1 spells anyway except when you ding and dont have your adept or app IV on you at the time...I dont think this will make much difference.

- Experience gain has been increased at all levels of play.

Havent tested this yet but after 9/7 patch the game became much harder so risk vs reward was out of wack...this might help it a little.

- A player character's base chance to avoid being interrupted while casting has improved.

9/7 patch also took away mitigation on jewelry and lowered other mitigation skills so this might be an attempt at helping out the casting community for letting the mobs hit harder in general.

- Avoidance on cloth armor has been increased.

Same as Above

- Common solo and heroic NPCs are much less likely to use spells and combat arts that hit for extremely high instant damage.

After the Mitigation changes I would run by a blue heroic and get 1 shotted without even knowing what happened...this is thier attempt to fix this eventhough I think they have a bit more to do before its fixed

- NPCs that have two or more down arrows now have slightly reduced health and damage output.

Well after hearing of some melee getting killed by a 2 down arrow mob after the mitigatoin changes...this must be thier "fix". Doubt this will be much of a fix for that last patch anyway.

Message Edited by Redorin on 09-09-2005 07:24 AM

I dont think we have any root spells that can be periodically resisted. Our root spells only have a chance to break when the target takes damage.

2. ward vs. hp+defense+focus, I think the latter is much better. At level 39, it gives +126 max hp and +26 to both focus and defense. My avoidance is 46% with the defense bonus.

Good to hear that about the roots. Magi's used to be HP+defense+focus+ward, they took the ward away, but at least it's no concentration now. I've heard that there are no Sage books past level 50, so curious as to whether we can even get App IV's or Adept IIIs. Do either of you know if Adept 1s drop for 50-60 spells, and if so, how much they are worth to an NPC vendor?

You can also buy app2's from faction merchants in Maj'dul. Do either of you know if Adept 1s drop for 50-60 spells, and if so, how much they are worth to an NPC vendor?

Yes they do, dont know how much they sell for though.
