Wizard or Warlock? Help me decide.

<font face="Times New Roman" size="3"> I know there have been threads like this already.  I have read allot of them.One posts stands out in my mind.  From the warlock FAQ.  Pick what color you want your spells to be because they are both really the same thing.  I like fire/ice.  I would really like to be a wizard because I do like the spell effects I have seen  so far.However, thats not reality.  Reality is that I want to pay a wizard to be a dps class.  I want to be needed and useful in groups but I dont want to be a healer or a tank.  I fancy being ranged dps.  Always have in all mmog.From what I have been reading it seems Warlocks fill this ranged dps role much better than wizards currently due.I have been reading about resists issue and such.  High end mobs resisting wizards fire/ice.  I have also read that wizards are getting some nice stuff from the upcoming changes to help.  The posts that said this didnt go into much detail and I wasnt sure what they were referring to about as im new to the game.  So are they removing this resist issue?  How are they helping wizards?Most likly im not going to choose until a few days after the combat changes and I get to read more about whats going on.  Which really sucks because im almost 20 and have to hold back my progress.  I just feel so [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] lost trying to figure out what is what. I have been liking EQ2 so far but its so [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] frustrating not knowing but yet being forced to make a choice.   How can I make a choice I will be happy with when i am blind, def, and disoriented?So, please help me understand my choices.Should I pick Wizard or Warlock?What is the word from beta test about the changes with the two?I will be posting this in both wizard and warlock forums because I want both opinion.No need to post in both..  I will be watching both threads keenly.</font><div></div>

The best advice I can give it play what you want to play.  With the combat upgrade, it's anyones ball game as to whom is top DPS.  Right now on test, the wizards have a clear advantage, however, the devs have posted that things may change. Botoom line, play the class that interests you the most.  I started out a wizard even knowing at the time warlocks were top DPS because I wnated to play a wizard.  <div></div>

Until this change warlock was the better DPS class, now the wizard is. I would say pick a wizard, you'll have more fun since you'll be able to do great damage on everything, while a warlock can only do great damage in some situations (group encounters).It's largely speculation for now though. If you can, hold off for 2 weeks; by then the changes will be out, people will have parsed damage and you'll be able to make an educated decision.

both r really the same in ur dps perspective only each used differnet spells. either way i wouldnt worry about which is the better nuker because both r gona bennifite from the upgrade but, if u go gongho on the nukeing missiles, ur gona die in the end anyway from aggro. <div></div>
