<DIV>Hello all,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Being a new wizard in EQ2 (after being one ine EQ) I'm still discovering certain aspects of the class. I have one question in mind though, I couldn't find a good FAQ about or any detailed information: it concerns the importantce of INT vs POWER for us.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Being currently 27, I have so far been giving the advantage to my power pool when looking at gear instead of int. The basic thought for that was "better having mana than running short for a last and decisive DD" (something I learned the hard way quadding raptors in EQ).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But am I right ? Seems int, while not increasing that much our power pools, has an influence on the relative damage of our DD, thus making us more efficient mana wise.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Should I switch strategy and start looking into more int item vs power items ? What are your ways of mising int/pwr gear ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Deneteth</DIV> <DIV>Wizard of Saga</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle </DIV>

currently 1 int = 1 power (level 0-9) 2 power (level 10-19) 3 power (level 20-29) 4 power (level 30-39) 5 power (level 40-50) up to 200 int. after that it is roughly 1 int - 1 power. at the moment int doesnt affect damage. however, in the next few weeks int will affect damage although im not too sure about power. ill try to do some tests later when i get onto beta. <div></div>
After the change stats will have effect all the way to 10x your level as stated by blackguard. That's a steady bonus up to 600 int for lvl 60. <div></div>

From the way its worded though, it seems the whole thing about your level x10 is only for damage bonus, not for power pool calculation. If it works for power pool calculation like that, I'll be overjoyed. <div></div>

<P>As far as I've seen int's effect on power pool isn't changing with the release while int adding a damage bonus to our spells (as described above) is being added with the revamp. </P> <P>As to which is better, burning down the mob fast at the risk of running out of power vs. a longer fight that ensures you'll have enough power, I think tht's just a personal style choice. The first style is riskier but can be more efficient over time assuming you don't miscalculate and die too much. </P> <p>Message Edited by Bucksnort on <span class=date_text>08-26-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:09 AM</span>

<P>Thank you for all your answers, I better understand the relation now <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>I guess I'll go for a bit more int, I prefer mana efficiency overall.</P> <P> </P> <P>Deneteth Dawnmist</P> <P>Wizard of Saga, Antonia Bayle</P>
