<DIV>Hi!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I currently have a well equiped level 50 wizard. I am starting an alt on a second account but was looking for advice on what to duo with. I have brought up a coercer to level 24 but I am not certain thats the best choice.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any input would be valued.</DIV>

Conjurer and a Wizard can easily take the ^^^ single group cons which are the equivalent to the old ^^ cons (with the combat revamp in place.) I'd imagine necros wouldn't be too bad either.

<DIV>A very good suggestion. Sadly my friend has already taken this option away from me <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would also like to consider a non-mage class (that wont compete for drops with my main<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )</DIV> <DIV>Any of you regularly duo with another class?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I've done a lot of grouping with a defiler, that worked out really well. He kept me warded and healed while I burned stuff down without having to worry much about rooting. <div></div>

<P>I duo with a warden - I tank and nuke - he wards and heals, heals and wards!</P> <P>Works well, and we kill mostly yellow/orange non-heroics.</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>Problem is you need something or someone to be able to tank for you. The summoner's tank pets just had a taunt boost in the last couple days. I actually have problems pulling off a level 50 conjurer's adept 3 tellurian rumbler pet as long as I lead with protoflame and forge of ro. I get those 2 things out and give the pet a few seconds to get a taunt or two off and it's really hard to pull off that pet if you're not trying to. This works really well on even con ^^^ heroics in the current version of the beta revamp.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The problem with going another route is you either need someone who can root/snare to offset your own recast timers which is very possible but really hard until it's been practiced for a while (LOOOTS of deaths there), or you need someone who can tank and heal which ... sort of limits your options... Don't base your choice off what it's like at the lower levels either. Things are very different at 25 than they are at 50+.</DIV><p>Message Edited by italica on <span class=date_text>08-23-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:47 PM</span>

I play alot with my Paladin husband and it is an awesome team. He tanks and I nuke and when one of us gets a little low on health he is able to heal. Yes we have wiped rather spectacularly on several occations but in general it is a good match.

hehe i was going to say the same thing, A palli is a great duo for a wiz, he can kep him self healed long enough for you to nuke, You just have to watch the aggro as if you pull aggro he might have a hard time taunting it off you, When i duoed with a palli i would let him get off 2 hos before i started to nuke, If he got both of them off i could then chain nuke and not pull aggro off him. Currently i have a trio group with me a guard and a templar, Man can the three of us kick some [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]! <div></div>

<P>I duo with a warlock, if you combine our root capabilities and our dps/stuns/stifles then you have the ultimate duo group.</P> <P> </P> <P>Besides if resists are high to cold/heat on the mob then chances are my warlock duo partner can land enough dps and vice versa.</P> <P> </P> <P>We have had great success duoing, its alot of fun.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

<div></div>IMHO in a duo/2 box situation you want to have three things. Heals, devastating DPS and evac. My choice would be a Fury. With the DoT's, nukes melee buffs Furies have and heals both of you can tank most stuff (if needed) long enough for it to die, which shouldn't take too long. Don't believe me? Take a look at their DS's, some of em proc for 200+ and proc often. At level 42 my Fury has 6 DS's she can stack, Wizards have another 3 they can lob on. Add in nukes, DoT's, heals, stuns and debuffs and you got a good combo there. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Ennis on <span class=date_text>08-26-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:41 AM</span>

<DIV>I would have to agree with Alien, teaming with a warlock is the most destructive partnership i can think of, anything non-epic goes down, we even took the Magus in Feerrott, giants in PF, xp goes on like crazy and loot is only split in 2. What we do is time the roots well enough so a few secs before mine gets off, he casts bony grasp and mob would generally be dead before the end of the second cycle. Even with adds, the secondary root still solves the problem. Healing is not needed as so much firepower and mob immobilization gives security to throw all the nukes at will. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was thinking of another combination as well but only in theory as i've never tested this. Try wizard with a chanter, especially when fighting group mobs. There will be no mana problem as chanter gives it back as you burn mob after mob when the others are mezzed. </DIV> <DIV>Happy hunting:smileyvery-happy:</DIV>

<DIV>In response to the OP - duoing with a second player versus 2 boxing is quite different. You need to be a smarter person than me to operate 2 'high-maintenance' classes at once (eg wiz & warlock) - i found i needed either to find a way to split the fight into 2 halves or have one toon doing very little so i could run it at the same time as focusing on the main.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Fun to hear what other 2 box combinations are out there but mine is wiz and paladin...until I leveled the pally to 38, the pally led whilst the wiz did dots from the outset and nukes at the very end. Once the Pally hit 38 i could use the wiz at 50 to take on more fun mobs whilst still leveling the Pally - unfortunately at the moment a 50 wiz can still solo most group mobs better than a wiz/pally combination with the pally tanking (except groups of 3 or more) so the pally is relegated only to auto-attack with PGT and heal the tanking wiz. Sad but probably the best way to level the Pally at the moment is to put her on auto-follow and then forget about her whilst the Wiz solos single grp heroics or takes out solo mobs with single nukes...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A friend 2-boxes a 50 temp/50 wiz typically leading with the Temp, but the Temp has to take ages building hate before the wiz can do much.</DIV>
My 2 main duo partners are a pally and a fury. I find that if the fury does the pulling, things work out much nicer. <div></div>

<P>i agree with the heals and wards. Personally, if i was in your position, i'd pick a shaman class to duo with. You would sutain most of the aggro while the wards eat up your damage. A druid class is also very nice too, especially if they hot you before you pull.</P> <P>Tank wise, i'd have to go with either a guardian or a pally. Guardians keep you safe, pally's can ward and heal in emergencies.</P>

Conjuror. They can still solo heroics on beta and take on solo adds without issue. They can have their tank pet up, and you can be their caster pet.

I'm a 50 conjuror on live, and I have duo'ed with a little lower lvl wiz for the last 10 lvls or so. As long as he takes care not to take aggro, we can kill some amazing mobs. With him at 45 and me at 47, we were duoing 47-49^^'s in EF with no problems (unless somone got aggro, in which case we DID get problems <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)

<P>I went with Warlock.</P> <P>It similar to my wizard so I know how to play him. Also its ok in regards to all my RL friends thats also playing.</P> <P>If I was only after a duo for my self I would probably go with something else.</P> <P>I trio with a paladin, and together we can take down red heroics (at 21 tho, with pally being 24)</P> <P> </P> <P>Thanks for all the posts.</P>
