Westfend's Ice Spear vs BoF Adept III

Just made 30 on my wizard and have got the choice for special training. I'm leaning twords Wrannstad's Flaming Wind AoE/DoT, but I'd like to know how Westfend's Ice Spear compares to Ball of Fire Adept III.Does Ice Spear do more damage than BoF Adept III ?What's the spell animation for Ice spear ?

I cant remember what Ball of Fire adept III does but I know westfiends at level 50 does between 500 and 600. With the combat revamp coming I would probably choose flaming wind though. It seems our AoE damage is raising so that spell may raise also which might end up a better choice then westfiends. I dont know if you want to wait for the combat revamp before you decide but right now not even people on test will be able to say what the best choice will be.

<div></div>No, the Ice Spear does not do more damage than my AdeptIII BoF. I cant give you the exact numbers beacuse im not logged in atm. As it is now Westfends is the most popular choice but, like the previous poster said, it impossible to say how the revamp will affect this. You might aswell pick one of them and try if you like it. When combat revamp comes out you will most likely have the choice to respec anyway. Correction: Indeed Ice Spear does more damage than Ball of Fire but lower than Ball of Flames. atm Ice Spear is doing alot more damage then BoF at lvl 50, cause it continues to scale up. However after the combat changes BoFire will be on the same timer as BoFlames. And Ice spear does significantly less damage then both of those. <div></div>
