I am brand new to the game and rolled a mage and scout. I /claim'd 2 paintings and the 'of Stromm' title with my mage after deciding my soon-to-be ranger was what I wanted for my main. So now I am stuck with the mage. So... which path should I take? Wizard, Warlock, or Conjuror? I am looking for after-combat-revamp prespectives along with current opinions of each class. II have little time at once (2 hours, 3 max) to be on EQ2 and grouping will be hard, so I will be soloing most of my characters life. Which is the better soloer currently, and which do you think will be the better soloer after the revamp, and hpw does each class solo? plan to take it slow and level up crafting as much or a little more than my adventuring level, so which tradeskill will be best as well? Thanks!

Warlock might have slightly higher dps, but nothing to worry about and with the combat revamp, everything can be different again. Conjurers can have more problems with groups of mobs (3 and more), certainly if you compare to a 42 wiz or warlock that has a AoE root.About the revamp, nobody knows the details. On thing that seems to be sure is that the Wiz and Warlock roots are going to be 'adjusted'. Negative adjustment = will last (much) shorter ; positive adjustment = ?????Tradeskill ? Mainly depends on your preference. Take something that you like. I yo want to make things that will always be needed : provisioner (but there are lots of them around).
Message Edited by Za'Hadum on 07-07-2005 12:40 PM

Thanks. And for tradeskills, I am looking to make money yet still provide me with things I can use. I was thinking that Tailor, Sage, Provisioner, or Carpenter (furniture!) would be best.

I've done Carpenter, Tailor and Provisioner.

Wouldn't consider Carpenter (only boxes that sell and on most servers the market is flooded).

Sage, I doubt it's worthwile with all the Ad1 drops in Splitpaw.

Tailor is quite good at the lower tiers. At the higher tiers you get lots of competition from dropped armor. Only things to make money is from crafting rare armor. Better check if there are lots of tailor active on your server.

Provisioner is a sure bet, but its slow money making. You gotta make lots of items that sell for not too much money.

Message Edited by Za'Hadum on 07-07-2005 10:17 PM
