Ding, 50! (semi rant, mostly happy)

So I dinged 50 this weekend. And of course got Ice Comet app1.  It does around 1200 damage, just guestimating an average. Wow. I have to say that I finally feel like a wizard. I finally feel powerful.  I realize now that playing wizzy has felt like...a struggle.  Nuke nuke nuke, harvest energy, hope the mob doesnt break root and kill you. Harvest harvest harvest. 2.5 hotbars worth of spells (not counting the 2.5 other hotbars for mentoring, etc. =P).  While dualing with my fury friend, we can now take down green heroic mobs without me having to harvest energy (barring resists, of course) until the mob is dead.  It's a nice feeling.  I've not tried any blues or higher ones, yet. With that said, I think now I feel a few of our spells are taking too long to cast.  Immolation, for one, is a time hog. Ball of Fire is too.  These should either have their damage increased, or their cast time reduced.  The Intromission line of harvests also take too long to cast for what it does.  I guess we'll see how things go after the revamp. Problems aside, I think I'm having more fun now than I've ever had as a wizzy. =) <div></div>

Wait till you get ice comet adept three. Does 2900-3600. And if you are lucky enough to get master one, 300-4700 damage.

<P>Sux that you have to get to level 50 to finally get real dps(and btw it doesnt land on about 80% of raid mobs), then to top it off that nuke does about 3600 damage at adept 3, and the warlock at level 50 gets devastation that can max out at about 12000 damage at adept 3. <P> </P> <P>Gratz to you 2.    L48.6 here and going along.        Hope to be to 50 soon.    And despite all the naysayers.    I love my wizard.  Two things will make it better.   Fix Protoflame and Fix Raid Mob Resistances.</P> <P>I don't care if my DPS is a bit below Warlocks...   If the raid mob resistances are evenly balanced out then it will be a lot more fun.   Bet the warlocks throw their toys out of the pram when more raid mobs are disease and poisont resistant.</P> <P> </P> <DIV>Nimrodel</DIV>

<DIV>i too am happy with my wizzie....and love my ice comet apt 3 it is nice....and i agree that the resists on raid mobs sux! the best spell i have i can not use more then half the time that does not seem right.....but what can you do other then have a fit and live with it he he.....my apt 3 does 2800-3800 on ave. hits for 3000 pretty nice <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
