today I went in MM with a warrior 50, cleric 50, wizz 50 and a dirge 47. "inc xxx"  'xxx is the name of the last mob, I don't remember right now. 10 seconds fight, suddenly  wizz dirge and cleric died. Of course warrior could not solo. Looking at log, I saw DEVASTATION They told me that was the warlock AE version, very very rare, and deadly ! well, deadly, yes, I DO believe that. We revived, came back. Now I used enfeeblement doll, everything I had. He casted devastation only once when at 5 percent life. And anyway put me and cleric at 50 percent. I don't know if this is new or not, but was a complete surprise. Great fun ! lol...  well, all that for a crappy helmet than even the 47 dirge do not want. <div></div>

it's a high end raiding zone off of EverFrost. <div></div>

<div></div>Miragull's menagery is a GROUP ZONE that can also be done by a very good solo wizzard (not me). I already went there 10 times, and that's the first time I see the end boss wiping a group that way; it is generally a piece of cake with 3 level 50  like we were. (and a dirge !) quest : http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/InSearchofaMenagerie.php <div></div><p>Message Edited by ailees on <span class=date_text>06-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:29 AM</span>

<DIV>Ailees, you cannot be serious. 50 Wiz here, No way in...er..heck  I could solo Miragul's Menagerie. NOT ANYMORE. You get into a caster fight with that Warlock ( and since casters cast when rooted now life is much harder) you gonna Die. Quickly. I go in with a group of three, myself (50 wiz) , a 50 War and a 50 Troub. We can do it fairly easily, but now you have to keep the caster guy stunned stifled, or there will be hell to pay. Oh and BTW last night he broke root and CRUSHED me for 938, 835 and 764 in rapid succession (heh that's right, yours truly pulled aggro over a Warlock). After the previous AoE damage, I died. If you got self buffed Poison resist over 3k, maybe. And you need Disease resist for the next guy. I have about 2100 self buffed poison resist.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you have some leet strat, lemme know what that is. I will try it. Just be advised, as I see it, you have to absolutely keep him rooted (note crushing damage noted earlier from the Warlock mob) AND either have mega-resistance to poison ( and disease for last Mob) or keep him stunned/stifled enough to prevent him burning you down AND DPS enough to kill him. Which means you also need to debuff him. I do not see how it could be done. I could be wrong.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Granted, I do not have GEB's, Invoker robe, or prismatic yet (all in progress), its about resists and ability to keep these hummers rooted/stunned/stifled. You simply are not gonna do that by yourself. Not with a double up yellow. And yes, all my nukes are Adept 3, and a couple master 1's.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This kind of  conjecture is what makes people upset about our UBER damage (LOL) and why our root is gonna get seriously nerfed. Before you post something you THINK someone could do, find someone who has. Not just someone who says they have either.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kablammo Suddendeath, 50 Wizard, Blackburrow</DIV>

If you read my message, you noticed I said <i>some very good wizz can solo it</i> and I added I cannot. I can't even solo the bear and ghost because I am not good enough at soloing <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  reading the board carefully, I understand no more wizz can now solo MM. But this was not what I was really talking about. I have just been surprised seeing that the warlock now can wipe a group with a tank and a cleric ! never saw that before. I went back there 3 or 4 times after the first wipe. But we know that it is much more dangerous than it was, then we max buff and use all stun/stiffle and our 4 peoples group is now OK. May be it is just luck ?  <b>ICEBOUD GIFT</b> seems to help a lot resisting AE. Next ruby I find, I think I will ask my sage friend for adept3. <div></div>

<DIV>We do it with 3 level 50 wizards and totally own it. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With 2 level 50 wizards, the chance of death is around 50-60%</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With three, you can keep the stifles and roots up and not have any major critical resists that will screw everything.</DIV>

Used to be soloable til they fixed caster mobs, I don't think anyone can do it solo now. <div></div>

<DIV>noticed SoE seem to have put a lot of DoTs and AoEs on T5 nameds to protect them from us loot hunting wizzies - Pumice almost got me before i moved out of range and Griblic owned me and a 49 pally where he used to be an easy solo</DIV>

If it's exactly the same as the warlocks Devastation it is going to hurt if the Arch Lich hits us with that, we better get poison resists up then. I'll make a screenshot of my Devastation Master 1 for the specs (and probably a few one stars cause I posted something warlock... sigh) <img src="http://members.chello.nl/jdevries10/Devastation.jpg"> </span><div></div>

Blackmagikk : how do you manage with the devastation spell ?  as it will kill you if it lands, I guess that 1/ you are lucky and never saw the warlock 2/ you are skilled and boss cannot cast it. If this is true, I don't see how to do it ? enfeeblement, OK, heat convulsions if lucky, but is it enough to allow you the killing shot before he cast ONE devastation that will kill you ? there is something I don't understand... may be that's why I will never be a strong soloer <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

ailees...#2 is how i do it. well, its more of an exploit of sorts. not an exploit of a bug, but of the way combat works. i cant tell u tho, cuz i am afraid SOE will change it!!!

<DIV>If there are wizards that can solo this zone, my hats off to you. Please share your strategy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I been there 3 or 4 times. Couldn't even get past that lvl 49^^ Remnants of Miragirl thing. He always breaks RoC early, has high resists, and as soon as he gets one second when he isnt stifled, he chain casts nil distortion on me for ~3100 damage each. I have found no way to keep a mob like him stifled for very long.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

The zone is definatly soloable by wizards. I have done it myself. It's not any easier than before the patch, however I'll leave it up you wizzy's to discover my tactic on preventing mobs from being able to cast on you for the duration of a battle. *hint* Mob positioning. Of course the limiting factors of soloing abilities in this zone are still dependant on the amount of sequential resists.. three rot resists and it's all over. BTW, if you figure out the trick, be aware of mage... He'll one hit any squishy if he gets the chance, thus making it impossible to position yourself into a safe area.

<P>If you mean stay behind him, I think I already tried that but he still casts while rooted.</P> <P>If you mean position him or get him stuck somewhere where you can hit him but he can't hit you, I don't want to know about it...</P>

<DIV>As, I mentioned. I'll leave it up you you to figure it out. *hint*  It does not involve sticking em behind walls or any exploits. The tactic involves you in respect to the position of the mob. The factor determining victory is really based off the mobs abitity to heal them theselves. Master and that you got it made.</DIV>

<DIV>Mainly if you put something in between you and the mob it won't be able to cast on you.  If there is a pillar or what not that is block your line of site to cast on it, then its also blocking its line of sight.  You can root something and DoT and move behind cover being wary of when the root is going to wear off.  You have now basically positioned yourself so that you can't hit it but it can't hit you.  It takes doing, but is doable and not really a bug since it is intended.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Zanthias</DIV> <DIV>50 Wizard - Steamfont</DIV>
